I'm loving the expressions. Fennec looks exactly the way I'd imagine someone would, trying to French-kiss a fish idol... Yech.

This belongs in a graphic novel. Excellent work!

I keep coming back to this. Definitely my favourite fanart! Your background skills and the dynamics of the pose are enviable.

Well if they're your worst then you're pretty high up on the ranking list as it is, then. Keep at it!

I love your Doul! The picture's great, of course, but Doul here looks pretty great and has this perfect mix of 'I will rupture your shit' and dead, calm seriousness, it's perfect.
Personally I imagine Fennec as more of a handsome rogue with a nose that was broken once before (not sure why the nose but the looks are because people trust pretties), but your take on him captures the ratty aspect of him and his craven cowardice pretty awesomely.
Sorry to fangirl splurge but this really caught my eye!

haha, thanks! I did my best trying to capture how they were described and what I saw in my head

It came out great. I love seeing other peoples' interpretations of characters from books with no adaptions. Your Doul is just great, I have to say. Your Fennec's interesting but too far from mine to make me go 'oh yeahhh', funny how you see him as a total sleazeball.
Also nice to know we have a similar idea of era, since I get sort of vague hodge-podge Early 20th century industrial mixed with all else Hell is loose argh what are they wearing. And a mishmash from various cultures...

Awesome! I just finished the Scar about five minutes ago. LOVE the way you drew reality shifting around Silas (God, how gross was that statue thing he had to keep frenching? Oh, how I love when Mieville makes me squirm) Really like your depiction of Uther. Great scene, great motion and composition, obvious fave

Thanks so much, the frenching was really weird but I loved the idea behind the statue warping things around so he could slip into the darkness

I love your Uther Doul - I saw him as in his mid to late 40s, salt and pepper hair and grey clothing. You've caught his style perfectly! The mightsword for me looked more like a flat, katana/antenna-like device but the broadsword you have here looks epic As for Fennec I might be wrong but at this point in the book wasn't he (SPOILER ALERT) covered in weird growths and lesions because he had been using the idol too often?

Thanks!
I think your right about Silas having growths and stuff, I forget now... But thanks either way!

Great work! I'm loving the consistency of the style, the color palette is great, and it's just such a dynamic scene. I love it.

He's holding a magic Grindylow idol that he has to literally stick his tongue in and french it, and then it gives him the power to slip into the inbetweens of objects, or like other dimesions...
That's why all the stuff on him and around him is warping.
You'd have to read to understand fully I think!

Well I don't blame him, what with that sword-wielding fellow chasing him! But with a name like Silas Fennec, he's bound to have done something shifty!
