Nice to see someone put that out there. I always told my girl friend this. Ok,Β more guys might buy into the game because shes half naked. But seriously that little bronze decorative liningΒ going around the trim ofΒ the heroins battle bikini is really gonna protect her from all them big guys coming at her with battle axes?!Β

I assume she will make sure that she only gets attacked on that part of her armor. That must be a knight skill or something....

ha ha... keep those coming...
And Players should have the choice of having both types of armors.
Game devs could have the more "sexy" one cost more mats to increase gold/material sinks in the game.

This is something that I've thought of as well. Both male and female characters could decide between which kind of armor they'd prefer the armor set to look like.Β
On the other hand, I'd suppose that it'd also mean a lot more work and memory space in the game itself, especially if multiple races are involved - it'd practically double the armor models.
But perchance the option would be available for some armors only? Just as some few armor sets do look identical for both genders in a plenty of games. The added cost you mentioned also sounds like a neat tweak.
Hell, it could be used as a kind of micro transaction. Sexify your armor! 5$.
I'd finally get my skimpily clad male toons and nobody would lose a thing.

Haha yes funny thing is that bras at first were used for men. They lifted breast and made them look bigger. Then they were started to be used to other things, some controversive like not sure health benefits. Now we are back to roots hehe

this is sometimes why I question some rpg games. how in earth they can say that protects you.

I think the simple answer is 'magic'

The most important protection is gloves, rest is optional really. I know I got my ass kicked with white wepons few times. Well helmet is also very important, because everybody aim at head... it's the most fragile place of human body, hands are the most exposed to attacks, but well it's hard to see shit so probably if someone is badass he wouldn't use it. In real life gloves and helmet must...
Good that this is fantasy so nobody will get hurt :3

π: 0 β©: 1
n-pigeon In reply to shiroi-youkai [2014-10-14 23:48:37 +0000 UTC]
Yes what is missing is bikini armors for men, and unrealistic overprotective armours for women :<
Why only women can wear nice looking femalish costumes? And why there is no useless but looking useful maleish armors for women?
Answer is money. It's cheaper to do only one style for each gender and still for majority of RPG players which are males it's enough to buy it.
Why I think about it's money but not sexism? Because I know this industry from inside and it's really hard to find sexist people there but easy to find studios tied to "money seource" that demands to use market research to dictate most of game design EVEN NAME OR FACE OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS!
One is sure, those market researches are right and it helps them to earn more money.
If we want game with REAL SPIRIT OF EQUALISM (not feminism). We have to make it by ourselves and don't expect it to pay off. (RPGs are REALLY expensive...)

If the outfits weren't almost nonexistent I'd actually play as my own gender. But this is a little too much, or should I say not enough.
