Quick time events are when you are playing a video game, and a scene is happening that you are watching and not interacting with, like a story sequence. And then suddenly a button pops up on screen that says 'press X' (or whatever button) and if you dont press it right at that second you lose and have to redo the scene. Its annoying, not fun at all and takes you out of the experience.

I thought for a minute that this was going to be a joke about the Decapre reveal. XD
The problem is that quick time events got way overused and it became a lazy way to create "entertainment" and "fun".

Yeah, it is a lazy way. I honestly can't remember QTE ever being fun, they just remove me from the action and the scene

I recall a few instances (Legend of Dragoon, Resident Evil 4, God of War series, Shenmue 1 and 2), but like I said, they got overused.
