Your Carnacki art is encouraging me to find the complete stories...

And I just ordered it!!

Which version did you buy? Hopefully one that has all 9 original stories! Some people sell them with only six stories.. for some insane reason.

I ordered this one:

www.amazon.com/Casebook-Carnac…

It has all nine, and I've been collecting other books in this series. Β

Yeah, I like their covers!Β  The E. F. Benson collection is creepy, blood-orange with a spider on it!

I swear I adore every Carnacki image you post, the whole series is just steeped in such a thick atmosphere of the unreal.Β

That is really helpful to hear. As I slowly plug away at it for no reward, it's nice to know people like the snippets I've been posting and makes me encouraged enough to continue.

Oh I adore Carnacki stories and seeing your art of the sort of "covers" and stills of this story
are super interesting! I imagine you're sick to death of hearing it but it drips of this sort of
Mignola Esq feel. Like him in deep tombs, musty libraries of antiquity and skulking through
haunted houses.

It's a nice update to the formula, though I wonder if this version has the "Carnacki Opener" of
him gathering friends for dinner and then one of his mad tales. Or if this is more of an ON THE JOB
Carnacki you're showing us.

Thanks! And Mignola has been a big influence on me over the years as far as comics I like to read and how I learned storytelling in the medium.

The first volume I'm working on finishing (which contains four issues) is a mixture of what you describe. Some start with the formula of him gathered with his friends retelling something that happened recently just like Hodgson's stories, but the bulk of the volume is him off on the job, we see the stories before he tells them. And at times he's intereacting with his friends in the case, but not in a story-telling sense.

These wide images I've been posting all have specific stories too, they aren't in the first volume but have to do with large plot points that I want to hint at now so I can be happy I drew something related to them if I ever die before I get to draw the full story

Oh wow! Well the minute that first volume comes out you can count me
in on purchasing it! I had assumed these were mostly like reimagining of classic
scenes but man I'm super looking forward to this now, wow.

Ha you can't have Carnacki without meeting in a room in comfy chairs to hear him go
"AND THEN THE GHOST BOOK ATTACKED ME!"

mscorley In reply to Mr-Undisclosed [2017-08-02 03:47:53 +0000 UTC]

Heh exactly! Gotta have the friends meet up at least once.

I'm excited for Vol.1 to come out. I really hope it's before the years out.

And in case you wanna follow more, I post art that I don't always post here at: thomascarnacki.com/
