Story-wise, spot on. I likey~ Maybe just something a little earlier to show he's a guy at the start? Because I thought it was like reflecting after the change...
Though should've added more border to the top rather than blurring that 1 part of the head. It's harder to read and looks strange.

Yeah, I probably should have mentioned it, but given it was a first person narrative, I didn't think about it.
To be honest I didn't know what to do since the background in the source image was white. I thought I could blend it, but since you mentioned a border would have worked better. I will change it.
