How sad that teachers encourage their students to copy instead of learn how to be original and enough creative to found their own style. You did a good job copying it though.

On the contrary, this was more of a study. Even a lot of the greatest Masters like DaVinci all traced and copied other peoples work so they can better learn techniques before they delved into their own work. My teacher's goal was to teach us how to learn from one of our favorite artists, try to do another work in their style, and then evolve our work from that baseline.
Then again, I totally see where you're coming from.
