Sorry, I'm an old photographer and I want to help.
First.
I like this image very much!
I like the tonal scale and richness of the color very much. Very painterly! And for me that is not a perjorative. Nice classic composition using a strong vanishing point.
Second.
Two minor quibbles.
Your composition would be more solid if your vanishing point were not pushed over to the edge. Remember the Golden Mean. Also remember the golden mean is Not the so-called rule of thirds
It's a bit tilted. If you haven't tried it already the lens correction tool in the distort filter menu in PS 10 is much better than the older tools under the edit menu. You can make up for the limitations of a fixed lens camera. You can correct barrel and pincushion distortion and make corrections as if you were using a view camera!
Further PS and photo technique tutorials must be taught in person

I am fine my friend. I have been invited on Fridays to do something I love- work with horses at a near by ranch. Of course I live for Fridays now! LOL! Hoping it might lead to some more work in the rodeo arena. As for sports photography it has taken off and kept me very busy. The photo business... ah but she is a lady... never the same for too long!
The kids are all good. My husband will be starting his 10 to 12 hour days soon. They work long days over the summer in the warehouse for the school districts. Its hard as we miss him, but in the end it help us all.
I have several books half written (I am notorious for doing that) and am staying currently within my realm of employment as due to the economy everything is frozen.
Tomorrow we will reach 80 degrees here... I think the groundhog must have missed Arizona.
Tell me how are you my beauty? Kids, partner et al??? Love you muchly ang.

sports photography? cool.. I can never seem to get that speed right.. did some for our soccer team last year but not my best.. maybe you can give up some pointers? love you babe!

hmmmmm... I am sorry to hear about the possibly layoffs. They are hitting everywhere we turn. I am with the public school system and we are currently at a freeze pay wise- we are hoping that is all we will be seeing. So far my two boys have hung onto their jobs in the fast food industry as well. This economic downturn of course is the counter balance this world needed. As we have become more and more wasteful and self centered we became our own worst enemy. Thusly, we now need a swing far to the opposite side to bring that balance again. I think in time this will do our kids some good. They are far too used to give it to me now! And I will only wear the brand names... you know... tough titty said the kitty... now grow up and realize life isnt just hammered out at your demand.
I hear it far too often from my students as they thing the world owes them... and NOW!
I digress sorry... I will be praying that your employment stays gainful and your family safe. Please let me know if I can help in any manner. I am always here for you.
As for sport photography- well it works a great deal like concert photography. Lots of photos... a few outstanding ones come about. I am looking down the road at buying a new Nikon lens that well be designed specifically for fast motion and nature shots. At least a f 2/8 and 70-200 with VR. Now I just love Nikon... but thats me. Lots of practice, steady hands, if you cant or dont know how to set things properly depend on the auto of your camera... yeah it may be cheating... but if it puts money in your pocket then so be it! It is helping us out right now. I set up for it to be a fund raiser. I am giving them back 15% of the total sales. Think about that angle. Love to you mucho- XXOO

it's truly a wonderful shot! I like having that lamp post at the corner . I guess would be better using almost 1/2 more exposure value to brighten up the whole picture a bit!
