A New Godzilla

Prologue

The two tiny cosmos had materialized on an old metal landing of an abandon steel mill. It was raining and the twin fairies watched as the school bus made its way slowly on to the grounds of the steel mill. A teacher, her aid, and 35 students ranging in age from 10-12 years old were all on board.

"Keep those kids quiet!!" The driver said aiming his shotgun at the teacher. The diver was in no mood for games; once he stopped the bus he waved the all clear sign. Carlos and 3 other men came out of one of the shacks each one armed with automatic weapons. The driver opened the door and Carlos entered.
"Any problems?" Carlos asked the driver
"Had a run in with a rookie state trooper, but-" But the driver was cut off by Carlos.
"Where you followed?" Carlos said he was worried if the State police were wise to the cult's operation.

"Don't worry I told him we were lost and asked for directions then that doughnut muncher drove off once he told me the way back to the highway!!" the driver laughed
"Ok good" Carlos looked at one of his men then turned to the children
"Don't be afraid, we will soon send you on the path of enlightenment!!" Carlos smiled

"Mike stay with the bus the rest of you help me get those double doors open once we can hid the bus we can welcome our new members into our order" Carlos smiled and exited the bus and walked ahead with his men behind them. Mike stood by the open door and told the driver.

"I'm going to be by the rear of the bus there is an emergency exit just in case anybody gets any ideas" He nodded to the driver.

The twin fairies joined hands then began to levitate and flew behind the bus to get a better vantage point. They watched as a lone state trooper made his way into the abandon steel mill armed with a shotgun and what ever else he carried on his duty belt. Mark Allen Cody ducked behind some old rusted out steel drums; he keyed up his mike on his radio.

"Unit 675 to headquarters, I have a 10-83 in progress" The rookie trooper called into his radio. But all the metal from the steel mill blocked any reception. Mark Allen Cody knew he was alone. He watched the man at the rear of the bus. And slowly began to make his way closer and closer toward the bus.

Shotgun will make to much noise, I need to be quick and quiet on this one.  Trooper Cody propped his shotgun against once of the metal barrels, place his hand on his baton. The state trooper moved in quickly drawing his baton in one fluid movement, he struck Mike just has he turned and quickly placed his hand over his mouth to muffle any noise he might make.

Mark Allen Cody looked up a little girl stared down at him from the bus she was no more then 11 years old.  Mark placed his finger to his mouth gesturing for her to keep quiet. The Virginia State Trooper then pulled his gun out of its holster and moved to the front of the bus. It was unfortunate Mark's family raised horses, he had learned to trust too much. Once he recognized the bus driver as the one he gave directions to earlier. He viewed the bus driver as a hostage instead of a criminal.

Little did the rookie trooper know that the bus driver was watching him approach from his mirrors on the side of his bus. Mark Allen Cody stepped in front of the doorway to his shock the bus driver had level his shotgun right at him and pulled the trigger. The force knocked the cop back almost five feet, stunned from the impact of the shotgun blast the cop laid on his back barley even able to move his legs. The trooper looked behind him he could see his sidearm 8 feet away, as Mark Allen Cody looked back there was the bus driver arming his shot gun at him.

"Any last words Po Po?" The bus driver smiled at the dazed cop he aimed his shotgun right at the cop's head.
BANG!!

The people on the bus watched in horror and screamed.
"I didn't think so!!" The bus driver said with satisfaction.

Mark Allen Cody heard singing some sort of strange melody his eyes began to flutter open and slowly 2 oriental twin girls no more then 6 inches in height stood on the cop's chest. The ground underneath him glowed in some strange symbol appeared.  The trooper tried to lift his head up but he simply lacked the strength. The school bus seemed to just disappear from view entirely. It was still raining out and there was a sudden gust, a powerful wind.  The state trooper looked up to see the most enormous multi-colored butterfly he had ever seen.  Then it and the twin fairies both began to glow. A shower of golden particles rained down as they settled on the cop's body he began to glow. The twin fairies began singing and dancing their strange melody again. After a few moments both the 2 small twin girls and the giant monarch disappeared from sight. The Officer turned his head the symbol under him was gone and he noticed red and blue flashing lights.

Two more Virginia state troopers jumped out of there cars and ran over to fallen comrade.

"Hang on there little MAC!!"

Chapter 1
Everything Changes

A wormhole opened up just past Mars, as the alien craft tumbled out of control and hurtling toward earth. Two badly wounded gator like aliens tried desperately to manage the controls. Catastrophic failure, catastrophic failure, the on board computer repeated over the intercom of the ship.

"Gee like we didn't know that!!" The engineer said

"At least we made it through the wormhole and there's the planet. It's covered by 2/3's of water perfect for us until we can be rescued" The scientist replied

"FYI genius, the pilot and co-pilot are dead, the navigation computer and the auto distress are toast. Neither you nor I are qualified pilots that's why you got us hurtling out of control and me losing my lunch. And you want kudos for getting us out of the wormhole?????" The engineer retorted.

"We have to hold it together if we even hope to survive!" The scientist snapped back
"Oh you want me to think positive!!" The engineer sat back and smiled
"Is that to much to ask? After all I'm the one trying to fly this ship which right now has the flight capability of a cement truck!!" The scientist snapped.
"Yes I can do that, lets see planet Earth here it is. Primitive and violent" He looked over at the scientist

"Will you please think more positive!!!" The scientist pleaded with his companion
"OK how about this maybe if we are lucky" The engineer paused as he looked at the scientist. Then continued, "We will burn up in the atmosphere!!"

"And in local news the bizarre abduction and rescue, a school bus full of 6th graders had their bus hijacked by a group calling themselves The Path of Enlightenment. A lone Virginia state trooper spotted the bus, details are limited and the state police are still conducting their investigation. But eyewitness news has a exclusive interview with one of the 6th graders and her parents.  She claims that something with wings picked up the school bus after the state trooper was shot and carried the bus to the police officer's patrol car where the teacher called 911. That interview coming up in the next half hour"

Carlos watched the television and looked at the bus driver.
"Are you sure that trooper was dead?" Carlos stared at the bus driver
"Unless that cop's brain was covered in Kevlar I unload both barrels in that Trooper's head. He had no head when I was done with him." The bus driver insisted. He was sure Cody was dead.

"I want you and Mike to check around find out what hospital the state cops take there wounded and if he is there you make sure this time. I don't want to get into a fight with state police until we are ready. And make sure that rookie dies of an air bubble or some sort of overdoes from the wrong medication" Carlos didn't want any slip ups
"What about you?" Mike asked

"I'm going to move everything to our summer beach compound at Virginia Beach. When you kill the cop join me there." Carlos watched as the two men left.

Two state police internal affairs sergeants were in Cody's hospital room  just finishing up taking a statement from him.

"So you don't remember anything once you got the bus door?" The sergeant asked
"No sir, I don't even remember getting shot" Cody replied.
"It's ok you might remember, if you do recall anything give us a call " The sergeant said quietly. The two internal affairs officers turned and left the room.

Mark Allen Cody leaned his head back on his pillow and sighed he left out the part about the two twin girls, the strange symbol not to mention the enormous butterfly he saw above him. How could they believe him?

"Mr. Cody" two soft voices said in unison
The cop looked around trying to find the direction of where he heard someone call his name.

"Mr. Cody" the same two voices said again.
When mark finally zeroed in on the nightstand next to his bed the two twin fairies stood there in plain sight.

"I'm either getting too much or not enough medication" The cop said wide eyed.
"Please listen sir, Mothra has chosen you to be her herald, you risked your life to try and save those children. And Mothra has given you a great power but you must use it only for good. As long as you do that when you or someone else is in danger you will become Godzilla" But before anything more could be said by the twin fairies the door opened.

Another Virginia State Trooper walked in, it was Mark's friend Noah Cranston he was talk about 6'3 and in full uniform.

"Hey buddy how ya feeling?" Noah smiled
Mark had taken his eyes off the night table for only a second when Noah entered the room. Now the only thing on the night table was the telephone and a tissue box.
Yep definitely to much medication

As the two internal affairs sergeants walked out of the elevator and headed back to base. What turned out to be a routine investigation took a bizarre twist.
"So what do we know about this kid?" The Sergeant Sullivan asked his partner.
"Not much just graduated from the state academy and his year probation ended only 2 months ago" Sergeant Sheridan replied back.

"What about personnel history and friends?" Sullivan asked.
"Well there Trooper Noah Cranston he and Cody both met and graduated from the same class they become pretty close friends. As for personnel history his parents left him a horse farm. Other then that Cody's your average trooper." Sheridan wasn't sure what his partner was getting at just yet.

Inside the forensic science lab the 2 internal affairs sergeants founds only more questions then answers.

"Well Skalski what can you tell us what happened with our so called hero?" Sullivan said with anger. Sheridan looked a little surprised at his partner's reaction.
"Let me tell you what I know vs. what doesn't make any sense." Skalski said walking over to a plastic container. He pulled out Cody's uniform shirt and vest. It was rattled with buckshot.

"From the pattern alone Trooper Cody had to be standing directly in front of the bus's door" He pulled some photos out of a folder. "The tire tracks that were left in the rain are the buses, and the pattern of the buckshot indicates that Trooper Cody was no less then 3 feet from whoever was holding a 12 gauge shotgun." Skalski handed the photos to Sergeant Sullivan.

"Why did Cody put himself in harms way like that?" Sullivan asked looking at his partner

"I don't know" Sheridan was going to suggest the fact that a bus load of children might have had something to do with it. But he thought better of it.
"The blast form the shot gun would have knocked Trooper Cody back at least 5 feet. Which it did the trooper on the scene and the indication of the outline in the mud confirms that." Skalski began to pace.

"So??" Sullivan sneered
"So" Skalski reached for another set of photos in a separate folder and handed them to Sullivan

"We found another set of buckshot from a 12 gauge shotgun aimed at the ground in the mud. The pattern of the buckshot indicates that Trooper Cody took a direct head shot!!" Skalski pointed out in the photos.

"What are you trying to say? Sullivan said confused how could Cody have taken a head wound and not have one when backup arrived.

"I'm not trying to say anything, I stating a fact from all the forensic evidence so far Trooper Cody should be dead." Skalski

"Anything else?" Sullivan asked
"Well there a mystery of a bus load of kids with a teacher and teachers aid somehow moved almost ¾ of a mile without leaving any tracks what so ever. But don't get me started on that headache because I haven't even begun to figure that one out.
"What do you think partner?" Sheridan asked

"I think Trooper Cody isn't telling us everything about what happened, he might have even set this up so he could come out the hero. Sullivan said quietly.

Mike and his partner arrived at the hospital to carry out Carlos's plan. As Mike and the bus driver began to walk into the hospital.

"Excuse me guys" A State Trooper said walking past them and headed into the gift shop/ café.

"God this place is probably crawling with State cops" The bus driver said nervously.

"Go find out where that rookie is, I'll go find out if there are anymore state boys in here" Mike ordered the bus driver then walked into the gift shop. Mike found himself a plant with a get well balloon on it and walked up to Noah who was ordering a burger and fries for his friend Mark.

"Excuse me Trooper?" Mike asked politely then continued "How's the other Trooper doing? The one that saved the children in the school bus?" Mike said happy.
"Looks like he's doing just fine sir, hopefully he will be back on the street in no time" Noah said

Not if we have anything to say about it
"I'm actually getting him something to eat, you know how hospital food is" Noah smiled.

Mike noticed the bus driver waiting outside nodded to Noah and paid for his plant. Once outside Mike met up with the bus driver, he nodded to him.

"Did you find out where he is?" Mike asked
"Yeah room 314, but what about that other Trooper and how many more are here in the hospital." The bus driver asked

"I think he's the only one we might have to worry about, but I do have an idea follow me" Mike walked off with the bus driver in tow.

Noah walked into Mark's room with the burger fries and a coke in hand. Mark was lying in his bed being prepped by a nurse. Mark lifted his head and looked at his friend.

"What's going on?" Noah asked

"Were just doing a little test, and you should be right back" The nurse said

"They inject some radioactive dye in me and after that" Mark started to say
"IT'S BURGER TIME!!!" Noah smiled

"Don't worry we will be right back" The nurse wheeled Mark out of the room

"Don't eat my burger!!" Mark pointed to his best friend.

As Noah waited the bus driver walked inside Mark's room and took out a syringe and injected it into his friends IV bag.

"What's that for" The Virginia Trooper said, as Noah got up and begin to walk over to the bus drive. Mike made his move and quickly jabbed Noah with a hypodermic needle filled with a powerful sedative. Noah whirled around and reached for his baton but the bus driver grabbed him from behind. Mike noticed the trooper's eyes begin to glaze. Noah pulled his baton and attempted to strike at Mike but with the trooper's adrenalin was pumping and that only caused the sedative to work in Noah system quicker.

The bus driver held on to Noah as he cop collapsed into his arms.
"This state boy's heavy" The bus driver told Mike.
"Here drag him into the bathroom" Mike moved to open the door and the bus driver dragged the unconscious cop into the bathroom. Mike reached for Noah's cuff case and pulled out the handcuffs and cuffed Noah behind his back.

"Go to the supply room and get me some medical tape." Mike smiled

"What for?" The bus driver asked

"We're going to get rid of two state cops instead of one." Mike smiled.
The bus driver smiled and hurried off Mike rolled Noah on his back with his hands secured behind him and as Mike looked at Noah's name badge on his uniform shirt he smiled.
"Trooper Cranston" he chuckled "You and your buddy will be seeing each other in that big police station in the sky!!"

In the lab the nurse and lab tech had just began to start the procedure.
"Now we are just going to inject the radioactive dye in you so we can see if you have any problems that we need to be aware of" but the nurse stopped suddenly and looked at the monitor. At the same time Mark Allen Cody was licking his lips.

"That's funny the dye just disappeared in your blood stream." The nurse was truly perplexed.
"You know when I get out of here and finish that burger I'm going to send my friend out for chocolate ice cream" Mark smiled but them the pupils in his eyes showed a spark of fire. Then in a blight flash Mark Allen Cody exploded into hundreds of tiny butterflies.

The bus driver returned with the white medical tape and handed it to Mike. Smiling the man took the tape and began tearing pieces and covered the Noah's mouth and nose. Unconscious and with his hands cuffed behind his back, there was no way for the Trooper to even save himself. Mike watched as he could see Noah mouth and nose trying to take in air.
"I know, I know it not the way you wanted to die, but if you think about it. It's a painless way to go and you're not even awake so you won't even realize it." Mike smiled
A flash of light could be seen from under the bathroom doorway where the bus driver and Mike were then a heavy growling sound was heard.

As the bus driver opened the door a large think armored tail came swinging around. It smashed through the door shattering it into pieces and hitting the bus driver square in the chest. The force sent the bus driver crashing through the wall and into the next hospital room.

Mike screamed as he looked at the creature. It was dark gray with spiny plates running down his back. The creature looked at the state trooper who was still being suffocated by the tape that covered his mouth and nose. The dinosaur like creature let out a roar and aimed his head at Mike and opened his mouth and let out a small blast of a radioactive fireball that hit Mike and sent him into the other room. The creature then walked over to the cop and peeled the tape off his nose and mouth. Then picked him up and both the creature and the trooper disappeared in a flash of butterflies.

Hampton Roads Virginia: Godzilla and Noah reappeared in the rear part of the old abandoned horse farm. It was left to Mark after his grandparents died. He changed back into human form and looked at his friend, then looked around and once he recognized where he was carried Noah into the house and laid his friend on the coach. Mark stared at Noah's radio that hung off his duty belt. All he had to do was turn the emergency switch on or key up Noah radio and the state police would be there in no time. As he looked down at his friend he noticed Noah was still handcuffed from behind. Mark reached into his friend's shirt pocket and pulled out a small handcuff key. Once Mark took the handcuffs off his friend and placed them back where they belonged on his duty belt he heard the twin girls once again.

"Mr. Cody" they two girls spoke to him.
Mark turned and looked at them.

"What's happening? What did I do and how did I get here?" Than Mark looked at himself he was still in a hospital nightgown. Embarrassed he tried to prevent himself from giving the two small girls a free show.

The girls looked at each other and interlocked their fingers together and lowered their heads as if praying. Mark's hospital gown glowed for a moment and he was suddenly wearing blue jeans and shirt with cowboy boots.

"Is that better??" They asked in unison
"What's going on—I mean how did I do that and how did I get here" Mark asked
"Mothra has given you the power of Godzilla" The girls looked at him then at each other and continued. "When all seems lost and hopeless Godzilla will appear. You will know when you or someone is in danger"

Mark looked down at his friend then at the girls.
"You knew your friend was in danger and you went there to save him, if you didn't" The twin fairies began
"He would have died" Mark said softly "Hmmph I'm going to be saving every cop in Virginia" The cop said softly

"That's not the way it works, you will understand in time" The girls said.
"What about my friend how am I going to explain this or even what happened to us?" Mark asked

"As Godzilla Mothra will always take you to where danger is, you took your friend here" The twin fairies tried to explain
"You mean I took Noah here?" Mark asked but the twin girls only nodded in agreement.

Mark turned he felt something in the pit of his stomach, it felt like someone needing help. Then in a flash like before, hundreds of butterflies carried him to his calling.
