Wow, this is completely different than what I thought! I see what you mean by the expression...I agree with Jason, maybe move the lips closer up, and maybe make her eyes look more open, if you want her to look scared. I love the colors you chose

Very nice pic so far! I love the shading, and texturing on the wood is perfect. The hair's beautifully done. The face is almost perfect, the only problem I see with that is there's a bit too much space between her nose and upper-lip (which must be frustrating because everything else lines up so nicely). You might want to put a bit more shadow between her night-shirt and pyjama pants on her left leg to seperate them out a bit (The separation on the right leg looks great) The leaves in the foreground feel like they need a bit more texture to them. I hope that helps!
