This is for the ASIANS that are bitch-assed annoyed about being interrogated by Otakus.
(this stamp is not for the idiots that pretend to be asian.)

Dunno why I made a stamp, I don't even have a sub..
But still, even this is anti-japanime crap, I'm not ignorant of the earthquake in Japan.

Okay, so I met some girls who actually came up to me and said "Are you Japanese?" "Do you like anime and draw manga, etc.?"

My jaw just dropped. After I told the persons I wasn't Japanese, they started guessing all sorts of stereotype east-east Asian nationalities...

I just had to tell them straight forward that I'm Filipino/Chinese

I honestly can't stand weeaboos/otakus. Yes, they're the same thing.
Honestly, I don't think of my art style as manga, even though even my PRINCIPAL thought it was. (Yeah, he said "nice drawing, is that manga?" o,o I was totally asshurt.)

Actually in Japan, otaku is considered as an insult. Otaku in Japan alsoΒ means another person'sΒ house or family. In America, otaku means nerd or geek of anime, manga, and video games. So being an American otaku is alright, but a weeaboo is abnormal beyond a average anime/manga/video game fan. I understand your point and yes I do feel sorry that some asshurt weeaboo is being racist towards you. If I see a weeaboo come up to me, I'd act the same way as you did. After all, weeaboos are sick.

They all are. There is no imaginable excuse. I especially hate the "proud otakus" Β who are clearly full-on weeaboos.

So glad I found a stamp like this.

You covered my opinion in the artist comments. Every time I try to draw humans automatically think I'm drawing anime, their response? "Because you're Asian, you've got to draw anime stuff!" ...uh no xD I more so draw humans in a cartoonish way, how people thought I drew anime I have no clue o-o No offense, I adore Japanese paintings of Samurais and landscapes, but I prefer doing things my own way.

I'm glad you understand that there's a lot of white people using Japanese (as well as Asians in general) as tokens to appear as not racist (I'm half-Chinese). I would fave this stamp if it didn't have the word "asshurt" in it. I'm sorry, but memes just need to... stop. I've been to Japan before and it was nothing like Anime.

If you look at us Socialists, Communists, Marxists, anti-Capitalists, Revolutionaries for our perspectives on weeaboos, you'll understand that we see the weeaboo phenomenon as a result of rampant consumerism and Western Neo-liberal influence on Japan. The Anime and Manga industry is dominated by corporate and first world interests and as you can see, corporations tend to control our lives (no joke).

Yes, the weeaboo phenomenon does play a role in exploitation if you think about it. Why else do you often see generic hentai or other fan service that caters to the mindless masses of rich upper class otakus? Because women are being portrayed as nothing more than sex objects (no way will I allow my Kitsunemimi OC to be some dakimakura pillow and I don't want to profit off of that, that's fucking stupid). We also distract ourselves with Anime and Manga and other consumerist entertainment to shield us from the real issues (this decedent lifestyle isn't just limited to Anime and Manga since Western cartoons, TVs, Movies etc. are also guilty of this). If you look at Hayao Miyazaki, you'll see that his films have managed to point out important issues as well as promote certain themes instead of the whole generic good vs. evil plot device which is known for making millions. I see weeaboos and otakus as an oppressive force against the working class but we can't sit around being liberals about it. We need a fundamental system change.

I assume that you know in Japan that there's restrictions on ethnic minorities (white people don't count because I've seen advertisements glorifying white people/US Americans there), high suicide rates which can be linked to the inability to get jobs as well as other unforgiving business standards, corrupt politicians who are always involved in scandals, people dying from "karoshi" (exhaustion from overwork) and other problems you could think of. That's why I look to better examples of countries like (this is going to be an unpopular opinion but I honestly don't care) Cuba, Venezuela, Belarus and North Korea/DPRK (believe me I've done research on these countries and I've spoken to people from the first two countries while the last two, I've had friends of a friend of mine go there and they see that they're just regular every day societies like everywhere else and these countries actually flourish without US influence).

Sorry I've turned this into a rather political rambling, but that's just my two cents.

MT-SkyMemory In reply to DragonQuestWes [2013-02-09 00:26:26 +0000 UTC]

Wow, I actually agree. I share the opinion, you expressed it in a longer, smarter way. I would be too lazy to mention all the political influences. (If I tried to say it orally, no one would take me seriously.)
I might seem mean to think this, but anyone who just can't see/understand what you're explaining has to be downright brainwashed and/or biased. Of course, I do like anime, I do read mangas, but other countries have things to offer, too. I'd like to explore more chinese media, but the availability of what I like is limited, so I tend to settle with mediocre Japanese stuff.

I know for a fact that skin whitening products are widespread in Asia. I understood why Philippines would have it, but not the rest of the countries. When I went to Philippines, I was dressed in American clothing, my hair was dyed and my skin was pale. I got a lot of stares, smiles from strangers and treated much better. I got special treatment for my skin colour and my western habits.

Not too long ago, there was this right-winger on the politics forum screaming "weeaboo" and "stalker" and who accused me of blocking her when I actually didn't. She blocked ME.

Funniest thing is, I've made a video proving her wrong and she's like "lol evidence is fake." No wonder conservatives aren't taken seriously.

Also,

"I'll report you for telling someone to kill themselves!"

I've grown to be proud of the Japanese in my blood, but I can honestly say that otakus come as more of an insult to me. Why? Most of them are not only pretending to be something they're not, but they're also coming off as ignorant to the whole of the Japanese culture. -_- I mean, it's great they appreciate the country for the comics, but it gets to me every time they insert the "kawaii" crap in each of their ENGLISH sentences.

It's like walking by a group of Hispanics and saying "Liek HOLA! So like...como estan??" Um...don't do that in real life though. X'D

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MT-SkyMemory In reply to CrownedHarpia [2011-05-02 00:28:51 +0000 UTC]

I hate weaboos because they either say they love asia and only praise japan or learn japanese because "subz r soooow anoyin"

When I first saw someone throw the word "kawaii" in a sentence, I was like; "What's that word?"
They tell me "It's Japanese for cute"
I say; "Well why don't you just say it in ENGLISH? This is an American Cartoon we're talking about!" And I get "saying words in Japanese sounds better." >.<

The way you feel about Otakus is just what I thought Japanese people would think about them. They're not intriguing for being interested in your culture and they should know...

I knew people at my school who believed to speak Spanish but all they know is one sentence and I have a friend who won't quit saying Japanese words while she's only HALF Asian and Filipino at that.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

CrownedHarpia In reply to MT-SkyMemory [2011-05-08 06:17:23 +0000 UTC]

I feel like if ANYONE should learn a new language, then they should at least be learning the language because they either need to, or appreciate the language and culture and wish to learn more about them. And definitely NOT because it's sooooo inconvenient to read subtitles. How ignorant and dull-witted. -__-

LOL! X'D If they live in an average English-speaking town and have English-speaking friends, well, logically they should SPEAK English. It makes absolutely NO SENSE to just spout a foreign word like that out of context. I've heard their reasons for it too, though. They think they're honoring a foreign culture, or looking cool. As if "looking cool" ever meant to annoy the crap out of people around them. Additionally I don't see how speaking in Japanese sounds better than any other language. A language is a language, a tool used to communicate with others. Sure, some languages sound prettier but that's no justification to blatantly (and very randomly) insert foreign words into everything you say.

It honestly sort of freaks me out...and it also makes me insulted because there's more to that country than comic books. It's like if people in Japan started mocking us and started eating cheeseburgers and fries every time an American walked by, and started making the double-horn symbol everywhere. XD It wouldn't intrigue Americans...it might be funny to watch but it certainly doesn't make us feel any more special than that. XD

All I can say is, for people like that in your school, and for people like that everywhere else, they should know that this is America. I know we're diverse and all, but pretending to be something your not is really ridiculous. And if they do happen to be half Asian or whatnot, they have to realize who their friends are and unless they speak Asian languages too, then it really makes no sense. -_-

MT-SkyMemory In reply to CrownedHarpia [2011-05-09 00:57:07 +0000 UTC]

Wow... I can only say that you share just about all of my views...

I've actually been a Japan tard when I was a kid but didn't know what anime or manga was, I loved the technology, I thought the language was cool, I loved karate and I liked the traditional clothing. Until weeaboos ruined everything for me.

I like the German language and I sometimes throw out a German curse to get back at my friend for the Wapanese crap. no more. and I do it rarely while she does it almost daily -.-

Honestly, there's too many Spanish fakers and Otakus at my school... I wonder if people are more decent in Europe... I want to go there.

Nice! I didn't want to hit on any sensitive areas when i expressed those views, but I am glad to hear you feel the same way about things.

You may have been into Japan, but at least you're not into it because of the "kawaii desu"ness and pocky. -__- those aspects of japan always amaze me too. But people who view Japan as just an anime farm amaze me even more. It makes me realize that we're slowly losing our attention spans. I mean, it's fine if you're just going to like the anime aspect of Japan, but when anime is all you see in that country, then there's an issue. XD

LOL! XD Well I can't blame you for doing that. It's more of letting people know how you feel whenever they throw random languages at you. -__- I hope she gets the message though one day, as it would really annoy me if I had someone who never understood that and kept randomly saying foreign words that are meant to either throw me off or make them feel empowered. XD

Europe sounds nice. I actually have a couple friends there and some family there who say good things about it. I actually would like to go to any other country (friendly ones at least) just to see how the culture is different from ours.
