Ah, good ol' Rinpu. Katt was pretty much my first and only anime crush. I discovered her and Breath of Fire II back when I was 13 or something like that. It was at that time that I realized I liked short-haired red-heads. Since then, I don't think I've ever had an attachment to any anime character. I'm such a nerd.Although the infatuation has since faded, she's left a legacy in my webcomic. Circa high school, when I cooked up the idea of M-Theory, I made a character named Katterie, who has short red hair. Katterie is now very different from when I first created her, except she still has the name, the hair, and a similar weapon.
Anyway, I had a sudden bout of nostalgia and drew this up. I never really figured out why Katt was so appealing. I'm not really into anthro, and cat girls were never a big deal to me. I'm also annoyed with most dumb characters, and Katt was pretty much as smart as a box of rocks in BoF2. The only conclusion that I've come up with is that she doesn't wear any pants. Hawt.

Yes, I remember chasing rumors as well. With the internet, nowadays, it's difficult to be led astray, though. There's always people refuting claims and saying stuff is bull.

So many people don't even know about the BoF series, it's shocking because it was such a good series. (untill the fifth)
I remember sitting around all day back when I was six, obsessing over how awesome Katt was. She was always in my party.

I liked the first two games but never got beyond that for some reason. Won't forget the characters!

Yeah, the first two were the best. Three and four were decent, but the fifth was a complete letdown. I stopped playing after about an hour and sold it back to gamestop 'cause it ruined the whole "plot" I guess you could say.
Bof1-4 are all set in what seems to be the past, no guns except for the rare usage in 3 and 4. But in 5 everything seems to be in the future..and the battle system was changed.(and the furens/warens aren't nearly as cool as Katt and Rei

I wasn't particularly impressed with the art direction in the later games, although they were ok. BoF V was just odd. It's too bad Nina is the only character that carries over.

Well, I suppose we should add to the equation how much ass she kicks. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with a Katt crush, I'm sure everyone who played BoF II had one, myself included.
I still say Breath of Fire II is the most underrated RPG ever, considering it is on par with just about any Final Fantasy.

She definitely was very powerful, especially shamanized. I think her design was supposed to be a paper tiger/glass cannon, but she was actually more tiger than paper.
