• New Survival Gamemode "Slack of Descent": A Brand-new Survival experience featuring random world generation, new survival mechanics and an ending! Some of the major new features include:
• Hunger/Thirst/Temperature Mechanics
• Full Day/Night Cycle including Lighting Effects
• Resource Collection and Crafting
• Artifacts that must be Pulled out from QS
(Note: The new randomly generated Maps are very Long and Detailed, so they may perform badly on older PCs. If you experience low framerates, disabling the "Effect" setting in the Options menu helps alot, as it will disable unnecessary Detail such as Bushes and Tall Grass. Playing in 4:3 also helps, as does playing without Rainy/Stormy weather)
• New QS Stripping Mechanics: Struggling in QS now also strips off your Pants and Shirt (If you're deep enough)
• Bikini/Nude Character Option (Nude Characters Disabled by default. Can be Enabled in "NudeSetting.txt". Graphics supplied courtesy of BogDog www.youtube.com/user/bogdog999 )
• Custom Character Support: Characters can now be found in "Chara/Doll", and can be dynamically loaded in-game by pressing V. (Load Specific "Parts" by Pressing CTRL+V)

• Loading the "Empty" Character will Clear all Clothing
• Actors: Create NPCs and Control them (Experimental - Very Buggy)
• (Numpad) Insert: Create a New Actor at your Mouse Pointer
• (Numpad) Delete: Delete the Last Created Actor
• 1: Reset Control to the Main Player
• 2: Cycle to Previous Actor

..Or, "CC+E V2," lol. Yes this is V2, or what it evolved to become. Surprise! I've been working on-and-off with this over the past year, but I've only really ramped up development with it recently, and I'm really glad I was able to finish it over my long quarantine hours in time for everybody to play.
If you're wondering, the name change came from a number of reasons. Probably the biggest was the fact that in my opinion this had evolved from V1 drastically enough to warrant a new name, as I felt just calling it "CC+E V2" was a little too underwhelming, especially with the addition of Survival making it feel like a completely different game.
The second reason was that, to be perfectly honest, I have never actually played the original Crackle Cradle game before, nor was I too interested in working on it. I was primarily interested in MBG's QS mechanics, so I decided to drop the "Crackle Cradle" part and name it myself instead. At it's core though this will always be a CC+ mod, and you can still call it "CC+E V2" if you really want, but to me this is bigger than just the demo level now, so I felt the new name was more fitting.

This Game is based on the idea of a "Quicksand Survival Game" that I've had since pre-2019, back when I was working on my Cancelled QS project (Which in some ways this is a successor to.) My belief was that Quicksand by itself in video games was fun and exciting, but ultimately a lot of the time there's no real purpose to them other than to willingly sink; no real sense of loss, danger, and most importantly, peril. In my attempt to capture that feeling, I considered the idea of a Quicksand Survival Game, in which the threat of death could serve to make Quicksand feel truly perilous, as dying wouldn't just mean a quick respawn, but a loss of all of your progress; a very real danger.
It wasn't until I played MrBlackGoo's Minecraft Mod that I became fully convinced that the idea was possible, and I began to take it more seriously. I considered game engines to build my new game in, and after briefly considering whether or not to revive my Cancelled QS Game for the 4th time, I quickly came to the conclusion that the CC+ Demo by itself was quite bare, by itself serving the function of a sandbox more than anything, and would make for the perfect base for my new game.
Of course, if you're not interested in any of this Survival business and you would rather play the CC+E V2 demo you were probably expecting, the old demo level is still available from the main menu, but I urge you to give Survival a try, as I think it's quite an enjoyable experience. Likewise, if you've never played the CC+ Demo or CC+E V1, I hope this is something that sounds compelling and 'complete' enough to convince you to give it a shot. At least, that's what I'm hoping, lol.

I highly encourage you to play the Game and try to figure things out for yourself. The mystery is half of the fun, but I admit that none of it is exactly explained in-game, so if you're really stuck and need help, I'm going to briefly list a few things here to help increase your chances of survival. If you haven't played the Game yet, you can consider these as Spoilers:
• The rainer the Weather is, the colder it will be, which only makes it even more vital to create a Campfire. Crafting two Sticks together, placing it down and then using Flint on it is enough to light one, and it'll keep you warm during the coldest of nights. Keep in mind though that Quicksand itself can also get quite cold, so a good idea is to craft a Campfire nearby before jumping in, which should keep you from freezing as you sink in. You can also use Berries on a lit Campfire to Cook them, doubling the amount of Hunger they restore.
• You can pull an Artifact out of Quicksand while at any depth, so your safest bet in retrieving one would be keeping yourself roughly at leg-level while pulling. If you pull too hard and end up getting out, you may sink back in deeper up to your waist or worse, which lowers your chances of getting back out.
• Sometimes you may not even have to go through the quicksand to get across a bog, as the plentiful tree branches above can serve to give an alternate mud-free shortcut, assuming you're agile enough. But don't get too cocky; if you miss a long jump and land back in, you may be far worse off than if you had just waded through.

I think this time instead of promising an update that may never come, I'm going to be honest and say I have no idea what the future holds for this. I could update this in the next few weeks, or maybe never. Don't get me wrong, I would love to make more stuff for this, and your feedback/ideas/suggestions still mean a lot to me, but as of this exact moment I cannot guarantee that I'll make another update. These things take a lot of time, and I'm normally a very busy person; if the quarantine didn't happen this year I'm not certain this would have even been made, so don't be too shocked if I vanish for a year again, or even longer; that'll be why.
Still, if I do find myself with a lot of free time, and a newfound interest to work on this again, I may consider making another update, but I honestly cannot guarantee it. There are still a few ideas I had planned for the Survival gamemode that I didn't quite have time to implement, so you may see those in the far off future, but who knows. You're probably better off not getting too excited.
Anyway, I've talked for long enough. I'm really looking forward to seeing what everybody thinks of the new game, and I'm still all ears for feedback. Hopefully during these bleak times I was able to provide just a little bit of excitement with my daily posts, and I hope that this was the update to CC+E that everyone wanted, or maybe didn't know they wanted lol.
