Does anybody besides me hate that butterfly in 'The Last Unicorn'?If I was the unicorn I'd be pissed. so I made a doodle :3 too lazy to ink or color it nicely...so yeah. and I just noticed the horn in the first panel is ugly while coloring...
I put spotties on it so it is now a Muddicorn. :B

Yeah, no need to question on how you became the last unicorn, where they disappeared to or go on an epic and dangerous journey to find your people and free them from an unhappy king that seems to think having a unstable castle on a cliffside by the sea where lots of earthquakes happen everytime the Red Bull comes out is the best idea ever.

Fortunately , he only shows up in the beginning, so I don't think the term "sidekick" qualifies.

Just an annoying unfitting comic relief character that is nowhere nessessary to the plot except to send the unicorn on her quest to find where the others have disappeared to.

Or they could have made a character that's less cringe-worthy. I don't get the choice they went with. It felt like a bad Disney comic relief rip-off.

Yeah. It could've went a different direction except this bad timing comic relief character. Not only that, but he's only mention once and was never seen again. I mean he keeps reminding the unicorn of the Red Bull, but really we never see him again.

Yup. He didn't come back but I'm not gonna complain about it, since the character is insufferalbe.^^
With that say, I'm not that shocked either. The story arc with the old lady and his monster-bird went nowhere eventually too. I expected its return at some point.

I agree. It's just some sorry excuse to introduce the secondary character plus to run the movie longer. Same thing with the wannabe Band of Merry men.

I do wonder how that unicorn had the patience to sit through that butterfly and his ADD.
If that were me, I probably would've attempted to trot away without him noticing less than halfway through the conversation. Either that, or I just would've stopped paying attention and started daydreaming about all the shit I could be doing instead listening to his bullcrap.
