Description
As part of a uni project we had to create postage stamps, a DL envelope design and a poster. This is the DL envelope with the stamps attached. We had an open brief, so I chose Thor: The Dark World. The stamp set would be released to coincide with the film release. I used the promotional posters as reference.

I decided to go with a minimalist theme, after my comic style concept didn't work as effectively as I had hoped. I opted for a silhouette style with a limited colour palette, with only two colours chosen per stamp. The colours for each character are those that are iconic for each character, eg silver and red for Thor; gold and green for Loki. I highlighted iconic elements of their outfit that are easily recognisable. For the envelope design I decided to use the landscape of Asgard in a simple black and white silhouette that would not overpower to detract from the stamp images, and also allowed for a functional envelope.
