Okay like every time I see this picture I just have to stop for like ten minutes to admire it. The meaning behind it is fantastic and the poses you used capture the mood perfectly. It's just freaking awesome! Your work has always been spectacular and as a huge Zelda fan I just can't get enough of this stuff!

The pain of Midna for not being able to enjoy the rays of the sun, I suppose.

Stunning!
The poses are fantastic, and the colours have a wonderfully cohesive, warm feel. Almost like they're basking in the light of twilight (hurr). Midna's pose in particular really gives the drawing a deeper, more complex feel, almost as if she's impatient, or somewhat saddened at not being herself able to also bask in that same light.
More than anything, I like the raw, visceral texture of feel of the drawings with the use of the tradition tools you used. I feel that even though you get some amazing digital brushes, nothing can quite capture that raw, dynamic atmosphere that pencils give. Something very personal and soulful about pencil lines over digital ones. That's my feeling at least.
What tools did you use? Looks like you either used charcoal or a very soft pencil for the shadows. Really interested as to what you did for that.

I think you'll be surprised XD - all I used was a normal test taking pencil. But what I did with it is what helped me achieve this kind of sketchiness. I used the side of the pencil for initial sketching and shading, and then I used the point to draw in details and harder lines. Then I added in all the color to photoshop.

A test taking pencil?
(Sorry, I'm no artist, and have no clue with some art lingo )
And oh? Well I'm absolutely astonished how you used the pencil for such a variety of lines and textures! Makes the pic look so complex!

Have you ever taken a test with a bubble sheet? Number 2 pencil? That's what I mean. Hardly art lingo at all. lol.

Love the pose. It kind of feels like they're just taking a break after being in a temple/dungeon. Like, Link is just happy to see sunlight and get some fresh air.

Wow, very nice. It's the kind of "deep" one doesn't have to understand, they just know it's there

I really like this picture. The fact that I can't see Midna's expression makes it even better, I get to imagine it
