Bill Murray GHOSTBUSTERS IS MY CURRENT FAVOURITE BEAUTIFUL THINGGot a special edition set of the two movies and it also has a couple of episodes of The Real Ghostbusters on it, something I'd never seen before!
Soo...explanations...
1. In one of the Real Ghostbusters eps, "Partners In Slime", Peter has to cover himself in mood slime to try and pass as a ghost. (HE'S NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT) 'Twas quite enjoyable to watch, but in the episode the slime was yellow, while in the second movie the slime is quite definitely pink...and well...has anybody here seen Tootsie?? THE MAN LOOKS DAMN GOOD IN PINK.
2. Uhh. My personal explanation for WHATEVER THE SHIT IS UP WITH EGON'S HAIR IN THE CARTOON. Seriously who came up with that? Hahahaha. I am so not convinced movie!Egon would ever do his hair like that on purpose. I mean I know it's the 80s and all, but have you even seen anyone have hair like that.
(Edit: A couple of people have now informed me that Egon's hair had to be different because the cartoon didn't get permission to use Ramis's likeness. Fancy that!)
3. Also about The Real Ghostbusters. First episode I saw was about how Slimer became a part of the team, and Peter is a TOTAL tsundere towards him, it's amazing. Hahaaa.
4. Janine/Egon is one of my favourite pairings. I love Janine~ <3 I didn't think of Egon as a sexual being at all watching the first movie, thought he was probably asexual. But then I saw the second movie and was instantly like "man, Egon loosened up!! ...He must have got laid! GOOD WORK JANINE"
5. "Hey Ray, ya got a little somethin'...just...lemme get that....mmm marshmallow." >|D
Peter/Ray is my absolute favourite pairing. I'm completely baffled as to why it gets so little love in this already small fandom...it just seems so obvious to me! Haha. Sh-shut up it would be cute D<
Sooo this picture makes no canonical sense in terms of where Peter is emotionally in this part of the movie...but it's the first thing I thought of when I watched this scene

Where Peter is like "I bet those science chicks really go for your large cranium" or something, and Egon just like...leers at him and says "I think they're more interested in my epididymis." And Peter just kind of freezes...and stares at him...and is dead silent for like five seconds...and Egon just keeps leering at him! Seriously, he looks predatory. It's bizarre. Me and Peter both were just like "WOOOOAH WHAT IS GOING ON." And then Peter ran away to talk to Ray so he didn't have to think about Egon's epididymis anymore xDD

I think a lot of the ships are pretty plausible.
I like Egon/Ray because they seem to get along well (which is a big deal with someone like Egon) and I really like someone so silly and sweet being paired with someone who's all intelligent and calculating. I'm weird hahaha.

Yeah, Egon/Ray is sweet, but then, Ray just has amazing chemistry with everyone! I love how they both get all excited about sciencey stuff and start talking a hundred miles a minute and nobody else can keep up, it's like they've got their own little world. c:

Yeah xD I think Peter appreciates that they get along really well in that way and have that with each other, but it must make him feel left out a lot. Not to mention of sub-par intelligence. I mean, when your two closest buddies are super brains... But he's always got his defenses up. He's good at hiding his weaknesses.
I feel like Peter and Ray have their own little world at times, too, one that Egon isn't privy too. If Egon and Ray's world is the world of science and intellect, Peter and Ray connect on a more fun and emotional level simply because they click. Egon is a very dry and emotionally reserved person who can't give Ray the reassurance and emotional support he often needs, but Peter has been shown to provide that to Ray more than once and they are obviously very comfortable with each other. It's a major reason why I ship them.
Peter and Egon is the odd pair out! They're too opposite in too many ways to have their own world together without Ray. Ray is their common link. I feel like there is a lot of distance between them and Peter may sometimes try to close that distance by trying to joke around or make a subtle emotional connection, or Egon may try to close it by appealing to Peter with his intellect, but they inevitably end up throwing each other off with that and deflecting each other's attempts. They definitely like each other, sure, but if it weren't for Ray I wonder if they'd even bother hanging around together?

I mean, it's kind of like a 'cool' kid hanging out with too dorks, so whenever the dorks have inside jokes about dorky stuff, the coolkid doesn't get it.

Well actually, Peter and Egon get along.
They're extremely opposite but they do, on some level, get along and understand each other.
Remember, Peter stopped Egon from drilling a hole into his own head.
And Peter brings Egon candy and such at times, because Egon has that sweet-tooth and all.......
I think one thing that really proves their friendship is the fact that Egon puts up with Peter calling him 'Spengs' haha
But I do agree they would have a harder time with their friendship if Ray weren't around. He's the heart of the whole team.
