So after Ghost Trick I sat down and ordered 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors (Or 999) from America and promptly forgot about it until it turned up one day on my doorstep. I've been playing it on and off on the way to work and back but last week I finally hit the tipping point where you can't only play it then; You have to know what happens next. You have to play it at home, at your desk, in bed, just so you can hit the ending and finish up with the game.. Or in this case, the true ending; 999 has multiple endings, 4 of which are "Bad Ends" and 1 of which unlocks the "True Ending".

Which will blow your mind.

It's no exaggeration to say that 999 is one of the best games I've ever played, even if functionally speaking it's a visual novel with adventure/puzzle sequences every once in a while. The story - which consists basically of a Saw-esque 'you got knocked out and dumped in a room now figure out how to escape also there's other people' kind of trap - starts out kind of slow but as you hit more and more endings and more and more is revealed it really starts going batshit insane.

Anyway, I don't want to say too much about it; spoilering 999 will absolutely ruin it. I'm already regretting having finished it because now I don't get to finish it again. It's never as sweet as the first time.

Oh, and it's not fucking available in Australia, but that's alright because it's actually cheaper to import it anyway. Go Australia. On the plus side, I saw a discounted copy of Ghost Trick at my local EB recently.
