"is it because of me?" Zeras asked tilting his head. "did i do something wrong?"

The brown elder brother did not even lift his head, instead he responded to his brother with tears and cries of anguish.
Zeras backed away briefly for he had never seen his strong, powerful father-like brother so broken and weakened.
Zeras out of instinct nudged his brother desperately trying to get his attention.

"Rai?!! Rai!!" he cried to the brown dragon, tears forming in the eyes "please Rai talk to me"

"You wouldn't understand" Rai finally responded with a mutter,
blinking once and feeling the tears drip from his eyes and stroke his scales.

Zeras backed away from him, upset, confused and afraid. His brother was never so upset before in his life,
in the back of his mind Zeras tried to remember what he could have done to upset his brother. Was it biting his tail? throwing a stone at him as a joke?
Or making fun of the fact that he briefly caught a glance of a red fire dragoness. But the more he thought about it the more he realised that Rai was not upset at him, but then what could it be?

Rai stopped sobbing for a moment, and Zeras walked back over to his brother overlooking his head.
There was silence between the two brothers as nobody could bring the courage to say anything to either.

"Zeras." Rai spoke weakly, prompting his brothers attention he ran in front of him
desperate to see his face and to get the answer of whether or not it was his fault that his brother was so upset.

"yes yes i'm here big brother" Zeras spoke wiping the tears.
"what is it? what did i do wrong? i'm sorry i'm sorry, i'm sorry"

Rai was silent, then he chuckled lightly "Little Firestone..." he glanced at his younger brother
"you've done nothing wrong, i am sorry i didn't mean to worry you, i have a lot on my mind...that's all"

Rai exends his paw and brings his brother beside him,
gently rubbing the side of Zeras with his face. The red dragon wiped the tears away and smiled a little

"but brother" Zeras said lightly "why did you cry?"

"because" he stopped to think "because i miss someone"
