Description
Ever since I did that Capcom Civil War pic www.deviantart.com/thunder-the… , I was feeling a bit inspired to do a cinematic universe that leads to it and future entries. I was motivated by ’s and ’s respective fan-made cinematic universes, so I had the need to do my own. Obviously, I am going to start with “Stage 1” of the universe, and I feel it should go like this:
NOTE: I had all of Thanksgiving break to think of this. I remember reading a comment that said that Capcom is "the Marvel of all video games." Now, I don't know if this was ironically because of how many times they've crossed over with Marvel in the past or he made a comparison between video game companies and comic book companies, but I actually agreed with it, which led to this. In addition to that, I plan on adding other Capcom franchises (that are either forgotten classics or unsung modern titles) to this universe.
ANOTHER NOTE: As I was making this, I envisioned it to be a series of animated films. I've decided against live-action because, if the 1994 Street Fighter movie is any indication...yeah...
And without any ado, let us start my planned universe!
Stage 1: Origins
MEGA MAN
Starting us off in this CCU is a story based on the first Mega Man game, where the Blue Bomber himself prevents Dr. Wily from conquering the world with Dr. Light's stolen Robot Masters. With Mega Man basically being Capcom's mascot, even after his return in the form of MM11, starting the film universe with this makes more sense. In addition, elements from Powered Up, the Archie comics, and the Megaman Megamix manga will also be implemented.
PLOT: Doctors Thomas Light and and Albert Wily used to be partners since their years at the Robot Institute of Technology. However, several differences made the two split up after graduation. Dr. Light would go on to develop Robot Masters, advanced robots designed to serve a purpose. But after the failure of his very first Robot Master, he shifted from military soldiers to industrial service robots. He has also built Rock and Roll, two housekeeping robots he would consider his children. Meanwhile, Dr. Wily, who grew jealous of his former friend's success, decides to steal Dr. Light's robot masters and reprogram them as fighting machines. Witnessing the destruction, Rock decides to step up and defeat Dr. Wily, so Dr. Light rebuilds him with armor and a buster cannon, transforming him into Mega Man!
POST-CREDITS SCENE: After his defeat in the hands of Mega Man, Dr. Wily emerges from the ashes of his destroyed Wily Castle, and he is angered over how his genius plan to conquer the world was destroyed by the hands of a housekeeper robot. In his underground laboratory, eight sets of blueprints are set up over his walls. Dr. Wily swears that he will have his revenge on Mega Man as he goes to work on his eight projects.
STREET FIGHTER
Here's where we get to the juicy stuff! The next entry of the first phase is Capcom's second-popular franchise, Street Fighter! It will depict the events of the first Street Fighter video game, where Ryu and Ken Masters enter the first titular tournament held by Sagat, before transitioning into Street Fighter Alpha 2/3, where it is then that we are introduced to the popular cast of characters like Chun-Li, Sakura, Guile, and M. Bison.
PLOT: Ryu and Ken Masters, pupils of fellow master Gouken, are invited to a fighting tournament held by the Muay Thai champion Sagat. Ryu was succeeding in the tournament, with his partner coming close, but during his battle against Sagat, he felt an evil presence surrounding him and, without any thought, defeats Sagat with a deadly uppercut (thus giving him the iconic scar and eyepatch) and wins the tournament. As he was heading home to deliver the good news to Gouken, Ryu saw his master bloodied up and unconscious, as well as a blood painting on his wall, the Japanese word for 'heaven.' Now Ryu must find the assailant of his master, as well as the evil intent he felt during the tournament. Meanwhile, Sagat was to be reprimanded by his master, Bison, the leader of Shadaloo. The organization makes themselves known to the world, leading other fighters, such as Chun-Li, whose father was killed at Bison's hands, and Nash, who is given a mission to kill him, to come after him.
POST-CREDITS SCENE: In a jail center, a blonde rugged man was to be turned in for the account of getting involved in a gang battle. After being led to his cell, the man, Cody, lies on his bed, looking up to the ceiling while whispering, "What did I do to deserve any of this?"
FINAL FIGHT
If Cody's appearance in the post-credits scene of the previous film is any indication, the following film would have to be based on the first Final Fight game. Mike Haggar, former wrestler and current mayor of Metro City, recruits Cody Travers and Guy to rescue his daughter Jessica after hearing she was taken hostage by the Mad Gear Gang. Since the Final Fight series is connected with Street Fighter, it will likely take place during the events of the previous film; some plot points from Saturday Night Slam Masters (of which Haggar was one of the playable characters in) are also implemented.
PLOT: Mike Haggar, former CWA wrestler, has been elected as mayor of Metro City, a place overrun by crime-dealing gangs. During his term, it is his job to ensure the peace of Metro City. However, his daughter Jessica has been kidnapped by the Mad Gear gang, who promise him that, in exchange for a high pay, they will spare Jessica's life. Turning down their offer, Haggar instead recruits Cody Travers, a brawler who is Jessica's boyfriend, and Guy, a ninja pupil and Cody's friend, to help take down the Mad Gear gang and save Jessica.
POST-CREDITS SCENE: We see a silhouetted woman sitting on her desk. She is looking on her computer, viewing the files of Mega Man, Ryu, and Haggar. She says that while she has what she needs, she is going to have to look for more recruits for her "Initiative" project. The shadowed woman closes her computer and disappears.
MEGA MAN 2
If nobody has saw it coming, then you would expect Mega Man to get a sequel in this first phase. If you think about it, Iron Man had a sequel a few years after the first movie was released, so it makes sense... But anyways, the plot for Mega Man 2 is obvious: based on the NES game, Dr. Wily creates eight Robot Masters of his own to enact his plans for global domination, and Mega Man once again steps up to fight them. To go deeper into the original story, elements from the Archie comics (again) are used, especially when Mega Man eventually loses control over himself due to copying the Robot Masters' powers. There are even plot-points from the manga, where Dr. Light's robots were about to be retired due to their actions in the first movie.
PLOT: One year after the events of the first Mega Man movie, Dr. Light's Robot Masters were to be disposed of thanks to the destruction they have caused. Rock tries to prevent them from being destroyed by saving them, only to be attacked by eight other Robot Masters. They reveal that Dr. Wily is enacting revenge against the Blue Bomber for his previous defeat. Now that he is aware of the news, Rock suits up as Mega Man once again to defeat the eight Robot Masters and their creator. Meanwhile, Dr. Wily hatches a scheme that will force Mega Man to become his property...
POST-CREDITS SCENE: As Mega Man is returning home, Dr. Light receives a message from an unknown sender. He opens up the voice message, and an image of a white-haired woman appears. The woman, Ingrid, informs the doctor about her forming a team and downloads the coordinates to her location for Mega Man, wishing to speak with him about the "Arcadians" initiative.
GHOSTS N' GOBLINS
Never mind a sequel to the Mega Man movie, a film based on GHOSTS N' GOBLINS is the last thing folks would expect out of this phase of the cinematic universe. But then again, I doubt anyone thought of Ant-Man or the Guardians of the Galaxy making an appearance in the MCU... That aside, this medieval action/comedy tells the events of the Ghosts n’ Goblins game, but goes deeper in characterization, such as how Arthur is often underestimated due to his peculiar size (at least, how it was portrayed in the MVC games). As Princess Priscilla (formerly Prin-Prin) has been kidnapped by a horde of demons sent by Astaroth, it is up to Arthur to step up and defeat them, while not losing his armor in the process.
PLOT: Sir Arthur, one of the knights of the Royal Service, is constantly looked down upon (literally) because of his size. When he hears that Priscilla, the princess of the kingdom, is about to be married by a prince from another kingdom, Arthur becomes suspicious about this and does anything in his power to prevent her from being married to him. Eventually, a demon invasion occurs upon the kingdom and the prince reveals himself to be Firebrand, a gargoyle and the general of the demon army sent by Astaroth. He kidnaps Priscilla and sends her to Astaroth in order to claim her as his prisoner, believing she carries a mysterious power. With all the other knights of the Royal Service out of commission, Arthur is the only one left to defeat these demons and save Priscilla, while at the same time preventing himself from losing his armor.
POST-CREDITS SCENE: After rescuing Priscilla, Arthur finally has his chance to spend time with her until a portal sucked him from his medieval world and into a more modern world. Unfamiliar with the surroundings of this world, Ingrid introduces him to the Code Holder Agency, where she states that Arthur could serve the team she is setting up.
DARKSTALKERS
BABY, I'M THE TROUBLE MAN!! Great, now I can't get that song out of my head, but I just can't help it. Darkstalkers was a franchise that never took off after the 90's ended, despite crossover appearances. However, this could be a chance for good ol' Morrigan and other colorful characters to make their appearance on the big screen. This movie depicts the events of Night Warriors: Darkstalkers’ Revenge (which retcons the first Darkstalkers game, anyway). Humanity is threatened by the appearance of the Darkstalkers around the world, and two Dark Hunters are sent to eradicate them. However, the appearance of Pyron causes both the Darkstalkers and the Dark Hunters to try and defeat him. If anything, this is more like the Night Warriors OVA.
PLOT: The Darkstalkers, the name given to the most powerful monsters of the world. For years humanity has feared their presence, especially the feuding clans of the Maximoffs, of which the fearsome vampire Demitri is apart of, and the Aenslands, whose heir is the gorgeous succubus Morrigan. Two Dark Hunters were sent to eradicate the Darkstalkers: Donovan Baine, a damphir who seeks to rid himself of the cursed blood running through his veins, and Hsien-Ko, who herself is a jiang-shi (Chinese zombie). However, when Pyron, an alien overlord, plans to add Earth to his collection of conquered planets, the Darkstalkers and the Dark Hunters now fight each other in order to determine who is worthy of defeating him.
POST-CREDITS SCENE: Morrigan is bathing at the Deserted Chateau until her eyes come across a man with a red suit and sunglasses. The succubus, surprised to see someone like him intruding on her privacy, asks if he would like to indulge in some "fun times." The man, DD, turns down her offer and instead tosses her a card before leaving. Looking at the card, Morrigan smirks as she has been invited to join the "Arcadians initiative."
STREET FIGHTER II
And here we get to the exciting stuff! Street Fighter II, the pinnacle of fighting games since the 90's, setting an example for later fighting games for better (Guilty Gear, Mortal Kombat, anything by SNK, etc.) or for worse (...anything else), gets another movie adaptation. And it can be assured that this one will do better justice to the source material than that live-action movie starring Jean Claude Van-Damme. If the title didn't give it away already, it will depict the events of the game (or its most recent update). Shadaloo sets up a new fighting tournament and Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile, and many others take part in it, you guys know the drill.
PLOT: Two years after the events of the first Street Fighter movie, M. Bison returns and is set to enact his latest plan. As such, Shadaloo announces a tournament around the world, bringing the greatest fighters, including Ryu, Ken and Chun-Li, to enter. Familiar faces such as Guile, wishing to avenge Nash's supposed death, Blanka, an electrical monster from Brazil, and Zangief, known as the Red Cyclone, also make their appearance. Shadaloo's Vega, Balrog, Cammy, and Sagat are also a part of this tournament. But not only does Bison plan to use the combatants as brainwashed soldiers in his plan for world domination, but he’s also attempting to draw Akuma out of hiding as a means to experiment on him.
POST-CREDITS SCENE: In a solitary home in Japan, a man is watching the events of the tournament from his TV. After the champion has been announced, the man switches the TV off and leaves his house. He enters his shed and finds a purple ninja outfit hung on the wall. He sighs as he says "I wish you luck...my pupils." The scene then cuts to the future as we see the donor of said ninja suit, ready to go into action.
STRIDER
You guys saw that outfit in the post-credits scene, right? Turns out it was a teaser for the next movie in the first phase: Strider! This film tells the events of the 2014 version of Strider, with elements from the manga. Grandmaster Meio is threatening to conquer the world, and the Strider initiative, a military group of ninjas, sent their finest (Hiryu) to defeat him. Yes, I have heard about the speculation surrounding SFV's Zeku being the original Strider, and I think it could definitely be inputed here. He founded the Strider initiative and has passed his Bushinryu fighting style to the Striders, which the film will heavily hint on.
PLOT: Set a few years after the events of Street Fighter II, Grandmaster Meio has taken control of the world, using the resources from his base at Kazakh City. The Strider Initiative, set up by Zeku years ago, send their finest agent and their youngest Special A Class member, Hiryu, on a solo-mission to infiltrate Kazakh City and defeat Meio. This was impossible for the previous Striders who have attempted this mission, but Hiryu is willing to succeed in his mission. But along the way, he encounters Commander Solo, the Four Winds, and General Mikiel, who all prevent him from foiling their Grandmaster's plans for global domination.
POST-CREDITS SCENE: Hiryu was called into the office in private to meet with someone. This someone in particular is the red-suited man with shades Morrigan met, DD. He says that he admires Hiryu's abilities and would like to have him join the "Arcadians initiative" that he and Ingrid are setting up. Hiryu agrees and leaves the office, with a determined look in his eyes.
RESIDENT EVIL
Yes, the RE movies starring Alice may be over now, but that doesn't mean we won't have any more faithful RE movies this time around. This film is based on the Resident Evil game, with elements of the 2002 remake. It follows Jill's side of the original story, as she and the other S.T.A.R.S members are sent to investigate the inhuman murders in Raccoon City, as well as the disappearance of the Bravo Team. But worry not, Chris will still have his moments as well. In addition, there are plot points from Resident Evil 0, which starred Rebecca, the surviving Bravo team member, shown through some flashbacks.
PLOT: Set in the year 1998, reports claim that a series of savage murders occurred in the outskirts of Raccoon City. The S.T.A.R.S (Special Tactics And Rescue Service) team is sent to investigate these murders and their sources. The team was divided into two groups: Alpha and Bravo. The Bravo Team lost contact with the others after being sent first, leaving Alpha Team to search for them. However, as they were continuing their investigation, they encountered a group of monstrous dogs attacking them, driving them to seek refuge in a mansion. Only Jill Valentine, Barry Burton, and Albert Wesker were left, with Chris Redfield having disappeared. The three remaining members of Alpha team must find Chris and the missing Bravo team members while dealing with horrifying mutants roaming the mansion.
POST-CREDITS SCENE: Upon escaping the now-destroyed mansion, Jill and Chris are finally getting rest after dealing with the Tyrant, a bioweapon made by Umbrella. However, Jill has received a call from an unknown caller. She answers this call and hears the voice of a male caller. Introducing himself as Luke, he tells Jill that he has heard of her and Chris' actions in solving the Umbrella case and exposing Wesker as a spy. Jill simply replies by saying "And what about it?" before he tells Jill that there are some things that he wishes to talk to her about.
CAPTAIN COMMANDO
Here we are at the climax of the first phase before reaching the main event. In terms of how I was going to make a movie based on Capcom's supposed mascot, I figured I would try to mix the original Captain Commando story with certain sci-fi works and superhero-based films. You could consider this like the Kamen Rider shows with futuristic elements and a comic-like narrative. Plus, the finale of this film would be the perfect opportunity to tie this in to the upcoming film's events.
PLOT: It is the year 2026. Metro City, once saved by the efforts of Cody, Guy and Haggar, is once again ridden with crime. Scumocide has created super-soldiers out of the escapees from jail, thus creating an army of Super Criminals. He also aims to make Super Criminals out of the innocent citizens of Metro City. As successful as this was, four of the Super Criminals have defected and formed their own crime-fighting squad, since there is a severe lack of them in the city, the Commando Team. Led by Captain Commando, the Commandos (Mack the Knife, Ginzu the Ninja, and Baby Head) have dedicated their lives to saving Earth and the Galaxy from the forces of Scumocide.
POST-CREDITS SCENE: After defeating Scumocide, Captain Commando teleports to the world where Ingrid, DD, and Luke are all waiting to meet. They walk up to him and inform him that a powerful threat is coming to spread chaos to the "worlds," and agree that now would be the perfect time to begin the Initiative.
THE ARCADIANS
All righty, folks! We've reached the main event of the first phase. The Arcadians is the first turning point of the CCU that should definitely be a blockbuster hit. Not to mention that this is the first time each of the Capcom heroes meet each other. In the ending scenes, some of the heroes were given "codes" to travel to a parallel world that is a culmination of their respective worlds, thus bringing them together to tackle a powerful threat. You may notice a theme from the stories of the CFAS films, which are actually based on those from the MVC games, except with only Capcom characters. In other words, this is based off the story of X-Men Vs. Street Fighter. This story will also have huge impacts on the characters entering Stage 2 and beyond.
PLOT: Death, the name of a mysterious man with odd powers, has masterminded a new plan for defeating the Code Holders. This time he will not be the only one to stop them, but he will raise an army. To do this, Death has opened several portals that lead to the worlds of the previous films and has transported the inhabitants of each world into this. Death's intention is to pit these strangers against each other and the remaining few will be a part of his army. However, he oversaw that the Code Holders were waiting for this exact moment to happen. Now with his plan blown completely on his face, Death drags the villains of each of the worlds (Dr. Wily, M. Bison, Pyron, Grandmaster Meio, and Wesker) into his own to counter the Code Holders' newfound Arcadians (Mega Man, Ryu, Haggar, Arthur, Morrigan, Strider Hiryu, Jill Valentine, and Captain Commando), as the battle finally begins!
POST-CREDITS SCENE: Several years after the events of the movie, an elderly archaeologist is seen doing an expedition underground. As he was investigating the contents of the underground cave, he found a blue capsule, which included a holographic recording from Dr. Light himself. According to him, he is no longer a part of this world and has dedicated all of his life and research into his final creation. As he says this, the archaeologist notices the blue capsule opening up, revealing a robot similar to Mega Man himself, albeit more mature appearance-wise. The screen cuts to black as he begins to awaken.
MEGA MAN X
And here is the the finale of Phase 1. I bet most of you are questioning why this is the finale and not Capcom Fighting All-Stars. This film's inclusion is pretty much to tell a time skip following the events of CFAS. Of course this is going to be based on the events of the first Mega Man X video game, where X, Dr. Light's final creation, is a Maverick Hunter who fights any Reploid (robots based on X's blueprints) crime. When Sigma, the commander of the 17th unit, goes maverick (term used to describe any Reploids with violent tendencies) and convinces other reploids to start a revolution, X and his close friend Zero must put an end to this rebellion. Elements from the Maverick Hunter X remake, the Day of Sigma OVA and X’s origin chapters from the Archie comics included as well.
PLOT: In the year 21XX, Dr. Cain discovers X, Dr. Light's final creation, hidden in cryosleep underneath the ruins of the doctor's lab. From his discovery came the creation of Reploids, robots whose design originated from X's blueprints, which led to a new revolution of technology for humans. However, when reports came of Reploids turning Maverick (the violent behavior coming from issues in the Reploid's electric system) against humans, Dr. Cain took responsibility by forming the Maverick Hunters, led by Sigma. X also joins the Maverick Hunters, but because of his refusal to resort to violence, he falls into a B-Class Hunter. But during their latest mission, Sigma turns Maverick and upstarts a revolution, leading to some of the Maverick Hunters joining his side. It is now up to X, as well as his partner Zero, to stop Sigma and save the world.
POST-CREDITS SCENE: In a dark room, a small computer switches on, revealing Sigma's face. Even after his body was destroyed, Sigma reveals that he became a virus and vows that he will return for his revenge, as well as gather other Reploids to follow his rule. (In other words, the same ending as the first Mega Man X game's)

This is great. Ever since Street Fighter: Assassin's Fist (the webseries) came along, I always wondered what it'd be like if there was a shared universe of Capcom adaptations (Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Mega Man, even the lesser known stuff like Darkstalkers and Final Fight). I really like the idea you have.
