When Eliza was traveling the seas with her crew, the Royal Crown Pirates, they docked on an island to re-stock supplies. While on this island, her cook found the Devil Fruit and brought it back to the ship so they could all decide who should eat it. The outcome of the vote was Eliza would eat the fruit and so she did. The fruit turned out to be one of the Mystic Zone type Devil fruits and would give the young captain the abilities of a dragon including fire breath, flight, impenetrable skin, and the jaw strength of a Giant.
