Thanks! It took me a while to figure out how I can use the ski pieces in particular to help get the shape I wanted. I had to make some ''illegal'' connections as seen in this breakdown:Β www.flickr.com/photos/commandeβ¦

Oh I'm not either. I see what you mean though. The only things I don't like are getting LEGOs from someone and they're partially painted over, or LEGOs that are drilled through. This does not bother me ^^

Yes, I agree. I'm okay with custom parts as long as they don't distract from the main model and if said part is well-made.
