I'm not so sure I'm happy with how this looks on the computer, looks a hell lot better hon paper (acctually the angles get all wrong, the face longer etc when photographed).. oh well.. I went to photoshop a quickie to fix those things.Quality is poor, I blame that on camera, lost a lot of texture in the hair... and I put most of my work into those dreads ~~.. meh... When I was halfway through I acctually expected this to turn out better than it did
This both does look like him, and does not look like him in the same way, a bit of a failure, but what do you expect? I don't do portraits of men usually xD
Anyway, Jason Momoa plays the character of Ronon Dex in Stargate Atlantis. So this is him as Ronon ofc.
Not one of my favourite characters, however, one of my friends really like him so. This is for her.
Also, this is a bit of a celebration for my 2000 pageviews, meaning it was finally time for me to try a male portrait.

I haven't seen the show, but this drawing looks really nice. The shading is excellent in all of your drawings. Great job on the facial features and the hair. The whole drawing looks really realistic.

ok, now this is great work!!! The Details, the shading everything is wonderful! The only comment I would have to your "looks like him/doesn't look like him" is this drawing actually reminds me of a younger Ronan, not present day Ronan. Aside from that, I love it!

I feel like I know what's wrong with this picture now that I've been looking at it for a while, and I will try to take that info into my next portrait not to make the same mistake.

That's a great attitude you have! When you learn something new from your drawings then you're taking what you need from them to grow! Always great to challenge yourself! And you've been doing wonderful! Keep up the great work!

I know then sometimes scanning makes a great work look totally different and usually worse... It's one of the reasons I do more digital art now... however compliments fot the talent!

I can totally understand that, I would practice more digital myself if I just hadn't forgot my tablet pen in UmeΓ₯, I just moved like across the country ~~.. stupid of me.
