how fitting that such a ferocious comic appears in a publication bearing the word "ferocious" in its name!

a moment of silence in the world of Luke Pearson... Whenever you're not posting stuff for a while I know there's a storm of awesomeness coming up .
and damn, you did it again, man ! fantastic compositions, love the narrative technique experiments and how they actually add to the story. beautifully drawn and most of all the beautiful colourwork. that was a great read

and yeah, I agree, too much nostalgia isn't good. But I think a healthy dose can feel pretty nice

Haha, thanks dude. I do try to make sure I'm carrying something worthwhile every time I come skulking out of the art-cave.

Glad you like it. I kind of intended my new book to be something like this, but I've found as soon as I'm given a number of pages to work with, I lose the need to cram a lot into a small place and I end up working in a much more conventional way without even realising it.

And I agree, I am actually constantly wallowing in nostalgia, but it's not always particularly healthy.

well, you really succeed. I also think you need to do something with the concept of the art-cave ( references to prehistoric times, bohemians, the batcave.. ). Great view on things. That's maybe the burden of an artist, you can't afford to come up with something sucky, but at the same time it's good to be hard on yourself and keep the evolution in your work flowing;

that page-number-problem sounds familiar, but you'll figure out a way. excited about your new book, man !
I make better or at least more interesting things when give a tight limit. not always, but very often.

I used to be more nostalgic and it didn't always make me feel better, but at the same time it's not like everything nowadays is worth embracing either. Maybe we should've been born earlier ? or am I feeding the nostalgia when asking that question

I actually have a comic idea waiting that somewhat revolves around an art cave! I might squeeze that one out for fun when I've got the latest one out of the way.

Nah, we were born at the exact right time I'm sure. In 20 years time these will seem like the good ol' days.

awesome. an art cave comic is something so Luke Pearson you gotta do it
and you're right, I guess I was nostalgic when writing that post. I'm happy to be alive right now. without the internet I wouldn't even know you. the internet is a damn handy tool. I still hear some of the older comic strip artists whine about how they needed to go to the library and look up a picture of a goat if they wanted to draw a goat. thanks google images nowadays. oh yes, still remember the good ol days when we went to that moomin expo together in Brussels and stuff

I'll let you know when London crosses our path again. something is always pulling me towards London when I haven't been there in a while.
Anneke and I will probably go to Paris, Berlin and copenhagen this summer, although our travel schedule has been altered a lot over the last few months .
