Description My very first animation made in flash, obviously as a school project - I'd never do this willingly because, as I stated some time ago, animation is really hard and definitely not my thing. And as always, I know there are some major flaws and mistakes which I tried to fix (file size just drives my crazy), but it turned out that only good way to correct them is to edit every single detail in frames in .fla document. So yeah, not gonna do this since I already got my grade. Too bad .swf files aren't flexible, it would help a lot.

I've made everything by myself except for sounds.
Music is from Jigoku Shoujo Original Soundtrack by Yasuharu Takanashi and Hiromi Mizutani.

This is very good for a first animation. I remember in my Multimedia course when the class did our first Flash animation, most people did very basic animations that were nothing like this. Even the people who had some experience in Flash didn't do anything this good. I particularly like your use of textures and the parallax effect (some textures moving faster than others).

However, the large file size is a direct result of using many textures. You could reduce the file size by lowering the texture quality slightly. A setting of 90 to 95 shouldn't visibly impact the appearance of the textures.

I loved the art and it's a nice animation. Good work.

About the file size, if you just want to resize it without making any change to the actual animation (to have a lighter version for web streaming) the easiest way would be to export it as a .mov and resize it either with After, Premier or any other video editor and then re-import it to flash as a .flv, it is not as much work as it sounds, but you will have to have patients with each render.

Thank you! Overall it makes a good impression on people and I'm very happy because of that
Actually I tried to export it to .mov but after waiting a few hours I have given up, I suppose my computer really needs an upgrade. I also exported it to .avi, it was done very quickly but animation was buggy.

You're welcome. And congrats for the good result.

Oh, so you already tried that. XD
Well, if by casuality it went over the four hours... Yes, you surely need to upgrade it.

Good luck on your next works.
