this collage of orangemade dim by the sun going down
over trees that never
gave me shade on those hot
summer days.
and the place where I keep
my secrets awake
was melted away on
a hot summer day.
So don't say
I never gave it a chance
you don't understand
it was out of my hands
all the time that went
to keeping the heat in
should have been spent
reeling in autumn.
