I honestly don't know who I'd root for. I would write an entire essay on who would win here (maybe tomorrow?) if I had the time... but in short there's a slight advantage with Gandalf's magic, but in large-scale battles Game of Thrones would win considering how many men they have and how brutal and dishonorable most of these soldiers are compared to LOTR. The more bloody / violent fighters mostly win, and come on, the orcs die waayy too easily. Pippin threw a stone, boom, one's dead.

Well Lotr is more battle focused while GoT is more politics focused so I think Lotr would win in a straight up fight. Plus we have Ned Stark vs Aragorn which is pretty much even but Jon Snow vs Gimli? No chance the boy who hasn't seen his third decade can beat a dwarf who once stood at the top of two ladders swinging and yelling 20! *swing* 21! *swing* 22! Though Ghost vs Frodo would be funny to watchΒ

Lol well, here's my view on it: (I've read and seen both)
1. I think GoT would win in a fight between armies, if you don't add the magic in, because the LOTR people can't handle the 10,000 orcs already and in GoT they have... I don't know, a hundred thousand and more? And also battle strategy is very important, and since Game of Thrones has both the numbers and the strategy, I think it would win if it comes to large scale battles.
2. Ned Stark versus Aragorn? Definitely Aragorn would win. Ned Stark was never very good at fighting, GRRM said it himself. He's just a good and just man, a good leader too maybe, but just not the fighting sort.
3. I'll say Gimli would win against Jon, alright...
4. Ahh why you want to see Frodo ripped into pieces? Aww don't be like Ramsay XD

While I admit I haven't read the GoT books I do know that the GoT universe uses conventional tactics of the era against their enemies, e.i straight up battles and the Fabian tactics. And the people of Lotr can handle 10,000 orcs. The rohirrim smashed the lines f around 500,000 orcs on the fields of pelanor. Though as far as numbers go I have to hand it to you there, Rohan at best could muster 12,000 heavy cavalry and besides Gondor they're the biggest human kingdom. Though if we're including the forces of Sauron then the battles are already in the Lotr universes hands. Oh and the thing about Pippin killing orc with a stones throw, Hobbits have terrifying throwing accuracy and a stone the size of your fist would crush the skull of a person. So in the end i think Tolkien wins in small duels and on the field of battle.
And I don't like Frodo. Would love to see a Warg vs Ramsay now that you mention it though.
