Because I felt like drawing something vaguely gothic/naughty.

This pic was originally submitted in September 2005 - that's five years ago! I was never entirely happy with this image, because I always felt it was lacking something, it had no point and no purpose, other than being a gothic kind of a girl. Despite the fact that I'm always flattered when people favourite my pictures, I became increasingly annoyed that this particular piece (as opposed to work I was personally more pleased with) would get a regular supply of faves. So I moved it to scraps, disabled comments and so on.

Today, in the middle of an artist's block, I finally decided to take this drawing out and do something about it. I have a feeling that adding to the dimensions and taking the focus further out from a simple character portrait is going to make people like it less - but in *my* eyes, I improved the work, and, despite what popular opinion may or may not be, is really the only thing that matters. While I was working on the piece, this is what appeared in my mind:

"My daddy told me to wait here for his return. I think it has been an awfully long time since he went away, but I know he loves me and he will come back soon. It's already dark again, but I'm not afraid. Daddy says I died once already and the dead want nothing further to do with me. I wait here until my daddy will come take me back home."

Make of this what you wish. I'll re-upload the original version back to scraps for comparison...

Hmmm. Disclaimer:
This is -again- still a WIP because I'm planning at some point in unforeseeable future to make a proper non-copout background. I'm totally against using the Photoshop presets used in this background - but I wanted to get something quick that wasn't good old white background.

So there you go - apologies, excuses and all.
