it is because I have a prime lens (a lens with large aperture)...with all these lenses such as 50mm F1.8, you will be able to have blurred background like this I can see, you are using a Nikon D5000 .... for Nikon there isn´t any 50mm F1.8 lens (eh.actually there is..but it would not have autofocus...only manual focus), only 35mm F1.8 ....or expensive 50mm F1.4 .. hehe
