Visually, while making this, I was inspired by the illustrations I saw in old children's books when I was little. Stained and worn away by time, the colors were always faded and every page had this gritty texture to it.

Though, despite the wear and tear, you could see that there was once a large variety of vibrant, rich colors on display, and though time may have taken its toll on the illustrations in those books, in a way, it gave them a lot more character.

In that same vein, this song deals a lot with age and beauty, and I felt the music really fit the look of the painting.

I was never really into Dave Matthews Band growing up, but my uncle's been obsessed with them since I was a kid, so with their new album out, he's been having me listen to a lot of their stuff with him, and there are a lot of great songs in their discography.
