I was thinking about the end of teh book and decided Eragon needed a scene with thorn not always thorn and murtagh and eragon and saphira. a change up ya know. anyway, tell me what you think and please be blunt! thats how i learn!Related content

Um, Yes, i know he is red. And im not sure he has black spikes. I dont remember if it mentioned that. Would you find me the chapter in the books where it says that? I would like to read it! The only reason i made them black in this pic, is because when i tried making them white it ended up looking light blue, and i was having trouble making them look legit white. Thus, i made them black for time sake. As for the other part of your comment, I said i wanted a pic with just eragon and Thorn because during the time of which i posted this pic, i had been posting many pics of all four characters together, or ones of the rider with their dragon. I wanted to change it up and see what it looked like with a dif rider and dragon. Insted of always Eragon and Saphira together, and Murtagh and thorn together. It really has nothing to do with the book, just trying something new.

No it does not. im am not saying this pic is mine or claiming it in anyway. and im not making ANY money off of these. I'm not competely sure of whom to give the rights too but i figured it wouldn't really matter on here since everyone knows that this is from the movie and i didn't make it. if they thought otherwise i would let them know. All i am doing it editing them for the pleasure of others and in an artistic way. it is not specified in the rules that this is prohibited. Im not doing anything wrong. (and there is a "photo-manipulation" catagory that i use for most of them)

Yes it does, by uploading it to dA you agree that it is yours and that you have written permission to use anything that isn't yours. It's clearly specified in the rules, the photo manipulation section is for edits of your original photos. Also how is this edited 'in an artistic way' i have photoshop and this would take no more than a minute to do, if even that.

If you ever actually edit a pic you would know that it is actually hard to do on a lap top. And that i use at least ten edits on one pic each time and it always takes a long time because i work really hard to make my stuff look good. When i mean i artstically edit stuff, im refering to all my stuff. alot of my art has deeper meanings to them, and poems and stuff that only some people can reconize. Like if you read the book ereis the movie was based on you would understand alot more. BTW, you dont need written persmision to use pics from a movie. You would need permission to use them if they weren't yours but the moive ha diference rights and stuff. Im not making any money, im having fun, using my art classes to make cool edited pics, and i have lots of fans. I dont see why its that big of a deal to you...

I have a laptop and edit my own photos sometimes, it's quite easy to do and involves little effort. I've read all the books dozens of times and first read eragon when I was 7 so if there was actually an artistic meaning to this I would know.
You do need permission as they aren't yours. It's a big deal as stuff like this clogs up an art website

I agree with the fact that this pic isn't very artisit, someone asked me to do this one. But i have alot of others that i do artistically. It just so happens that alot of people on dA love my art. And i love to make it. Your opinion on art doesn't make mine wrong. I only use one website for my pics And it this one because dA can completely handle it. If it makes you feel better i will delete this pic considering its not very artistic. I only upload my pics to my gallery and my groups gallery. Alothough i know some of mine are also found in some other fan groups associated with the art i make.

How about you delete all the screenshots that you've edited and put them on a different site, that allows it

You really think that i want to go through like 200 pics and delete them and re upload them on some other site. Not really. You ask my "watchers" if i should do that. I have a feeling they will really want me to keep on dA. And i want to as well. Besides, latly i haven't really been uploading Eragon stuff anyway. I've been two busy doing photo shoots with real people to be editing screen shots.

you should have made the horns a dark red, they look more dark blue or black.

I was going for Black, but thats really because the red didn't show up right. plus technically he's supposed to have ivory white horns but white wouldn't show right either. But thank you for the suggestion ill try that later!

I think that Thorn should be a bit more.... male, as this one is a slight bit feminine. But it's really good!

Well that's because i didn't actually make this pic. Its from the movie Eragon so i had to edited Saphira to look like thorn. Thud he looks slightly feminine

Thanks, i was really trying to make his eyes the focus of the pic, to draw you in like it did to Eragon in Brisingr, on their second battle i believe.

You up load a pic to picnik. and edit it by clicking difrent options that are shown to you. Each option has a little example next to it. Its really easy. Expirimenting with dif options can make a really cool pic

I totally agree, the book was just lacking murtagh and thorn altogether, i was really upset that Thorn had been there through three books, and had hardly any screen(book) time!
Anyway, really nice manipulation! Maybe you could try replacing Eragon with murtagh for another piece.

im having trouble with that acutally. when you past in on the lighting is wrong and it looks fake. so i try to work with whats there to give more of a reality you know?

I used three dirent edititing tools to have difrent dementions and lighting and color, in a whole it took a while to make and the proses is complicated. I used Picnik.com to edit it but it will take lots of practis and knowlegde of the site to be able to make a good pic.

The eyes themselve took forever and i used a totally difproses to change them.

I used red face paint, but only a little and brought some of teh strenth down, and HSL filter i changed teh hue but i cant remember teh exact number, also i lighted it a little and used hardlight to give it reality. Then i changed the tint to red but lessend the strenth of it by alot and made it a overlay to give it reality. I sharpened teh pic and made it clearer. then i saturated it and fuzed the backround so thorn was more promonate. I did a ton of other super detailed stuff to it but i dont feel like going into all that. this should be enough. (i might have turned saphira gray before adding color)
