Anno PeractioAdvanced High-Output Close Combat Weapon - Gram
SuperFrame Gilgamesh's [link] primary weapon. Although Gilgamesh is based on the ancient Babylonian figure, the weapon was named after the sword of Sigurd (a.k.a. Siegfried) of Norse Mythology. It was custom-made to match the pilot's fighting style, whose surname also happens to be Siegfried.

Awesome detail 
I want to model some of my own weapon concepts but I kind of want to use something less complicated than Maya, does such a program exist?

I used Luxology Modo for the base model and ZBrush to add some (not so great) detail.
Modo is by far the easiest 3d modeling software I've come across (I've used blender and C4D in the past) and its default renderer is great; almost on par with vray. The shader and UV UIs can be a little confusing at first though.
As for ZBrush, I've taken a look at your gallery and you seem to be a proficient sculptor. Your skill would suit ZBrush just fine.

I've not heard of Modo, I will have to try it, and definitely ZBrush
since quite a few people have suggested I try that one.
