Description
Quick. HA! I took about 10 hours to do this tiny clip. My god it takes so long. You can see the quality get steadily worse as I get more and more impatient.Related content

It's been a long time since we've seen an animation from you. The one you did of the blonde taking her shirt of is still one of my favorite animations.
Have you considered using software to do some of the in-betweening to smoothen out the animation?

The only thing I've tried is flash. I found it to be pretty useless though. If you just want parts to move around and rotate in the plane, then it will do the inbetweens very well - but then you always get something that looks distinctly 2-dimentional (which is exactly what it is).
To give it the illusion of depth, you've got to have shapes that change over time, and flash always makes a mess of it. Maybe I was just doing it wrong, but I couldn't get flash to morph anything more complicated than a rectangle without all in inbetweens being garbage.
I also didn't much like the drawing tools, but that's a secondary issue.
PS. If anyone reading this knows where I'm going wrong with flash then PLEASE let me know!

Thanks very much. I'm gonna try a few more animated pieces. It's great fun seeing your creations come to life.

Awesome, another animation of yours, I hope the length of making this won't stop you from making more.

I commend you for even having the patience to do that much animation...it's not my personal strong point.

Yeah.... It's difficult. I can draw 10 pictures that I like, but 10 that actually look like the same person is tough.

Well thanks, but that's the problem. With another few hours it might have gone from 'fine' to good!

By fine, I meant good. I think it coulda been much worse, But overall, I liked it. It was animated very smoothly.

what software did you use?
those arms seem to have been very difficult to animate!

mushypeaschips In reply to ClotosetZ [2009-03-26 23:49:34 +0000 UTC]
Adobe Illustrator and JASC Animation Shop. Lots of copy paste. There's only about 5 different drawings of the arms - I made excessive use of scaling, rotations and mirroring to squeeze lots of frames out of only a few images.
