Igneous Rock and Cloudy Quartz married from the Pairing Stone, and despite what many ponies may believe, they love each other very much. They just like to keep with their traditions and such. And this is also with their beloved daughters, who they love dearly, and their daughters love them in return. Yes, they can be hard at times, but working on a farm provides hard work, and everypony in the family understands this.
While Limetone, Maud, and Marble did well, Cloudy and Igneous both knew that their Pinke wasn't for the rock farm, but they loved her very much and knew she deserved to thrive where she needed to, so they decided to ask an old cousin from Igneous's side, Chiffon Swirl, to give her a place to stay and let her be herself.
Pinkie visits her family all the time, and they are happy to see her.... even if you can't tell.
