Description
The thunder rolled in the distance, dark clouds claimed the jet blue sky with an inky ominous approach of the days to come. The booming weighed in to combat the ache that was carried in her chest, and the thick air she breathed in was not an ease nor comfort of approaching this high shoreline. The scent of the salted ocean and electricity in the sky made Tania's movements urgent to the top of those steps, where a small figure clad in black much like her was waiting. The candlelight flickered in the gentle breeze, but hadn't blown out yet.

She could feel her daughter's pain, and no amount of lightning flashing or thunder tearing across the clouds could turn her attention away from her with those few steps she was away, with that candlestick she kept.

"I'm leaving a light for your papa, so he can find his way home." It was a simple statement that motivated the youth to light her own way, knowing that he would see hope where the light carried to him.

The danger cleared for a moment at least, when the veil of clouds that held the threat for rain shimmered with silvery light from the mid-noon sun, paling in its yellow radiance as though it too, missed the man who carried to Tania the embodiment of the moon. As she was his sun, as they both were his sun, he would come to the light and home soon.
