Lovely place to be, if you get back there go to Gordale Scar just up the road.
Good capture Rich.

Not too far from there is Stainforth Force, another place worth a visit. I can give you directions if needed.

Ah, that's just north of Settle, right? Yeah, I've seen pictures of this place before, it does look worth a visit. I think I may have to plan some sort of round trip, start in Malham, then up through Stainforth, then maybe on to Aysgarth. West Burton's up round there somewhere too isn't it? Think I might need to book a few days off work!

Yes West Burton is up near Aysgarth but needs to be the right time of day. I went there late morning and the sun was right behind it and into the lens but you can walk up the other side and go under an over hanging cave sort of thing and get shots from there.Unless of course it is cloudy, then it wont matter. Gordale is lovely but I advise you to wear wellies, get a cheap pair. The reason is that everyone and his/her f*******g dog either stand in front of you or sit there all ***** day taking about cake making or something. Last time I went I wore wellies and stood in the stream and ******* everyone else up for a change. If you cross the stream you get a great wide angle or pano of the beck and cliff face. Turner painted it years ago, worth a look on Google.Past where you went to Janets Foss there is limited parking so if you drive there from Malham it will save time. Back from Aysgarth near Askrigg is Hardraw Force, worth a visit.

That looks like a useful site, cheers!
I was lucky when I went here, the only other people were a photography group, so we all stayed out of each others way, I imagine it gets quite busy during the summer months.
I have some software that tells me where the sun is going to be throughout the day [link] , I'll check that before going and plan accordingly, thanks for the heads up.
I always take a pair of wellies when shooting falls, an essential piece of kit!
Thanks again!
