Exactly. It's odd how many people can't seem to understand this distinction!
XD Your gryphony character there is hilarious; the face he (she?) is wearing in the panel where he (she?) is pleading to be grabbed by the scary mystery hands as well is perfect. In fact, all your characters are awesome, and why on EARTH did I only just realize that I haven't read any of their ref sheets?! Clearly this is a travesty that must be rectified, esp. since you're totally on my list of people to root for.

I can stand in a glass elevator and look down or stand high on a mountain or bridge and enjoy the view, I love roller-coasters even the ones that stop at the top and look down and I want to go skydiving one day, thus I know I'm not afraid of heights. But I refuse to go on a Ferris Wheel because it rocks and I'm terrified of falling out. Those things are just not secure! I freeze on the top of ladders when they're leaning against a wall, because it might just shift from under me, which it has in the past. (luckily it was only a few feet off the ground, but it means I can't comfortably get into the attic without having to fight my fear every time.) So yeah, there is a distinction between the two for me. Glad to know that it's not just me thinking that!
Well when you've been flapping for that long trying to fly vertical with no updraught, you'd be begging for an easy lift too.
XD yeah I can tell you've not read the refs, but I won't hold it against you, refs are boring. She's a Manticore crossed Sphinx, though manticores aren't that well known anyway.

I agree with pretty much all of that, although I don't have a fear of ferris wheels. Ladders just make me want to be extra careful. But there was this one time when we actually got to go parasailing in Hawaii, and I'm 800 feet in the air, and all I can think about it, "If that ONE SINGLE CARABINER attaching my seat here to the parasail were to somehow magically break...I would die." Really sobered the experience, esp. since carabiners pretty much cannot break. :I But yes, my friend, I do very well understand.
