Description
Mienfoo (the Martial Arts Pokémon) is an uncommon Fighting-type Pokémon found among mountainous terrain and ruins within the Unova, Kalos, Alola, Galar and Kitakami regions. Valued for their impressive mastery of the martial arts and willingness to take on all challengers, Mienfoo are energetic creatures that can certainly prove to be troublesome to deal with for beginning trainers. They might not have the defenses needed to survive very long, but these creatures can certainly deliver an onslaught of powerful strikes before they're taken down for the count!Mienfoo and Mienshao are highly valued within fighting arenas because they are essentially born with the ability to utilize every known type of martial art; how and why this is possible is still the subject of some debate, but it is quite likely that human intervention within breeding populations may have been a major factor. Regardless, these two creatures are considered to be experts within all fields of martial arts and are perfect for delivering balanced assaults to opponents. In addition, their deceptive agility, which they take great pride in, allows them to attack continuously without end, delivering elegant combos to opponents in the blink of an eye (which helps to make up for the relative weakness of individual strikes); although already fine-tuned to begin with, Mienfoo and Mienshao can further increase the speed and accuracy of their moves simply by concentrating. In regards to attacks, Mienfoo and Mienshao have access to a fairly wide range, all of which utilize varying fighting styles but mainly focus on agility. As such, Mienfoo and Mienshao are the only Fighting-type Pokémon capable of learning the U-Turn and Bounce (along with Hawlucha) attacks naturally in addition to being the only Pokémon (along with Seismitoad) capable of learning the Drain Punch attack naturally. It is also interesting to note that Mienfoo and Mienshao are among the few Fighting-type Pokémon capable of naturally learning the Aura Sphere attack; oddly enough, though, they are also the only non-legendary Pokémon capable of learning it that possess a base Attack stat that is higher than their base Special Attack stat. This is most likely a result of their physical grounding within the martial arts, with the attack being learned as a natural side-effect of their aura's energy capacity.
Mienfoo, although still quite young and small, have a fierce temperament and are dangerous to face without armor for protection. They tend to seclude themselves on mountains and devote their entire lives to training, slowly moving their bodies through a series of poses to hone their minds in the morning and forming packs for defense that each have a specialized style of kicking and chopping that is unique to each different pack. When faced with an opponent, Mienfoo will utilize their small claws to cut apart their enemy as they deliver masterful attacks in the process, delivering more than 100 chops in a minute. The attacks themselves, however, should be considered the real threat and not their claws; although sharp, their claws are too small to be utilized alone for offense and are in fact lost altogether within the front paws upon evolution. If human intervention is believed to be a factor in the development of these creatures, then it is quite likely that the claws on Mienfoo were once much longer. Since sharp blades and therefore claws are generally frowned upon in most fighting arenas, clipping them would have been mandatory and selective breeding for specimens with smaller claws would have been a huge influence in their development as a species. This would also explain why their claws are lost altogether upon evolving, signifying their purpose as vestigial traits left over from a distant past.
Despite the fact that they appear harmless, Mienfoo are powerful adversaries that can easily topple larger opponents that are unprepared for them. Though they might lack serious defenses and are slow to learn Fighting-type attacks, Mienfoo are great companions that can quickly become major threats as they grow and develop over time. If you're in for the long haul, then a Mienfoo might not be a bad investment; they may seem cute, but in battle these little beasts will certainly prove to be anything but that!

My Mienfoo is actually stronger than other Mienshao, in spite of not being able to evolve anymore, since he touched an Everstone

Unfortunately, this makes him very aggressive and in the past he often used violent ways to punch my Steenee, glad now he is having temper managements...

Mienshao versus Greninja on a martial arts level alone. Who do you think would win? This is assuming a fairly open area, maybe a few trees and possible hiding spots, no water.

I would still give it to Greninja, just based on their agility and natural skill.

Very interesting, this one. I have a question--actually a similar one to ~Souledge-master . Are they patient enough to watch someone learn better fighting skills of their own and would they be willing to teach? I'm sorry for the double question.

Thank you so much! After the bad day I had, seeing this and the Mienshao report in my inbox made me smile, which I needed. That's interesting that Mienfoo may have been selectively bred for smaller claws, and this does well in explaining Mienshao's lack of them upon evolution.
