Description
for some reason i haven't posted this yet!this was a commission for ~BuckyOHare , he asked for a portrait of kim deal, of pixies/breeders/amps fame. i'm not sure i've completely captured her likeness, but i referenced this photo of her which i love: [link]
a reference was also used for the background, based on some patterned fabric.
i'm getting a little better at drawing guitars too! (well, a bass in this case)
the frame was provided by the commissioner
pencil, ink, acrylic on paper

I love the colours and the details in this piece. You have a lovely simple drawing style that is mixed with intricate colouring and compelling designs. :>

I just now realized this is not a locket, but a small round frame, but seriously, we should both put our art on necklaces!

I think your art would look really cool on plastic bracelets. If you sand down number six plastic and draw on it with marker or colored pencil, I think paint might work too, you can then zap it with a heat gun or even a hair dryer and it will thicken and shrink. Then, while it is still cooling off, you bend it into the shape that you need it, and let it cool. It's really fun, but I haven't done it in a very long time. I think it would be fun to make our own and compare them when we are finished.
