Demeter and Bombalurina as a couple of frisky mares

These are pictures of the characters from the Video production of the musical play "CATS" in the form of horses.
Done with sharpies and colored pencils.

I'm curious. How did you figure out Demeter's possible coat colors? The colors are good, but many of the costumes are done in a way this kind of hard to get what they may be. Tugger, Mistro, Alonzo, Victora, and even Cassandra are easy to figure out with their simple colors, but how did you decide what Demeter is...
And what kind of cat do you think she is?

In the movie and in many fan-made costumes, she has a white base with gold and black crosshatching. The colors/design of the horse is based off of those costumes.
I just figured she was a semi long-haired tortoise-shell calico with minimal white.

I think she might be more of a tabby, in one costume her colors are set up more tabby like. Light base with black stripes...

It does seem like she could be that, that wouldn't be surprising with all the calicos present, but yet would her head fur kind of be?
If my memory serves, tortoiseshell is three colors forming a coat on a (usually) female cat. Her black, gold, and white (I think she may be more of a tortoiseshell instead of a calico since she doesn't have as much white), but yet her head fur...

I owned a Demeter wig made professionally by someone who also makes costumes for the stage productions. She based the wig after the Moscow designs, which are very similar to the movie designs. The wig was calico-colored, and had a few more shades than you'd see in an actual cat; but calico colored none the less.

wow...that is a huge honor...but how did you come to obtain such a piece? Even if it was not really used professionally, it had to cost something with who made it.
You know, I wonder if maybe the calico parts were kind of...to do something. I seen plenty of calicos and I know they have splashy head markings. I wonder if the wigs could be viewed as extra...or maybe it acts like how you explained Liz's wig worked, it was based off her hair + hat in human form...I wonder what these cats would look like in human form...interesting idea, but I kind of like focusing on the feline.
I made Bomby be Tugger's sister since...well both cats have the same personalities and are spotted. They flirt a lot which makes some uncomfortable, but it's never any serious stuff.
My main focus has been trying to simple things down. For some it is easy, like Munk, Skimble, Alonzo, etc. But others...it seem the film crew had fun with the costume designing, its beautiful...but difficult. But I would love to see what you can up with what you mentioned (I bet it was probably hard figuring out the right colors and such).

I purchased it from her. It really was a wonderful, professionally made wig. I do miss it sometimes and I often wish I hadn't sold it, but we needed the cash at the time.
