His name is Yuuri, as it is a unisex name. "Yuri" more meaningfully means "ghost" or "spirit". Most Americans only know the 'female romance' definition but the fact of the matter is, the name carries a lot more meaning for the character than the whole 'female romance' thing, and it would be super cool of people looked more into it instead of being obsessed with the 'lesbian' translation.

Actually, the "Yuri's boy name should be Yaoi" comment is one I get a lot, not just on Deviant Art. And most people who comment that are being serious because they don't know any better. So whenever I see the comment---whether it's said sarcastically or not-- I offer that tidbit of information, more so for others who are reading the comment who would benefit from knowing that.
