Hello everyone!The movie
I made this drawing for 's latest contest. It features Jess and Leslie from 'Bridge to Terabithia'. This movie is one of those movies that was a part of your childhood. The library in our village had like three movies you could borrow, and this movie was one of them! I would watch the movie ten times before having to return it. Yep, those were the days
This drawing shows Jess and Leslie having a footrace. They race each other the entire movie of course, that should be in the drawing!
The drawing
I really wanted to capture Leslie's big smile. Because when she smiles in the movie, her entire face lits up! She has a huuggge smile! The poses were pretty hard to draw for me. I find it difficult to get some dynamic poses done and draw moving characters. So that was a good challenge for me. And also, did you notice how I gave Jess black sneakers? He really wanted to have black sneakers in the movie but he never got any. So that's my treat for him, haha.
I do believe the coloring results would have been A LOT better if I would have used colored pencils instead of markers. Because now I'm not so happy with my coloring. But hey, better luck next time!

My lines are clean because I make sure all of my fineliners are in good quality and full of ink. As soon as I detect that they are running out of ink, I will replace them immediately.

Unfortunately I'm not very interested in story boards and designing other people's characters. At the moment I'm busy illustrating a children's book and that should be my main focus. Thank you for inviting though, I really appreciate it that you like my work!

So, I've only ever watched Bridge to Terebithia once, I was not a kid anymore, and I don't remember much of it (or maybe I chose to forget, because THE FEELS, but, anyway...), but I find it really cool that you included all these references and I have to agree with you completely on that smile comment. That really was some awesome acting by AnnaSophia Robb.
Though you say you had a hard time with the poses and colouring, I really like your composition and your awesome style, as always, plus in this case the bright colours really stood out. Best of luck with the contest o/

I really love their poses and and expressions, it's great! It's awesome to know that you pushed yourself on this one with their poses, it turned out great. I love how happy Leslie looks, and how determined Jess is.
