Lovely photo of the Cyclamen. I like the aged effect you've given it.
You say you have an extension tube, where did you get it?

You're welcome
At first glance yes, it is a bit washed out, but it makes you look at the photo for longer to see the true detail. Also it has that vintage look to it. I like that Art can be pretty much anything you want it to be, it just takes creativity, imagination and an open mind
Wow, that's cheap! Thanks, I was about to spend several hundred euro on a macro lens! At least I can try out macro photography a little bit more.

thankyou
i wondered if maybe the coours were a bit too pale and washed out but decided its art and it doen't have to be technically perfect
i got my extension tubes from ebay, they were only $15! from someone called 'Axdeal' i think

Beautiful image! Great detail!
I can see the lens was reversed in the pupil of the frog.

haha thats ok,
i totally agree! people get caught up with technicalities and forget to see the content
im glad you think so too
yeah my extension tubes do the trick for me! they aren't quite as sharp or as fast as a proper macro, and they dont autofocus (you can buy more expensive ones that do), but it hardly makes a difference to the outcome really, you just have to be creative and find the best way to use it.
a way you can do macro for $0 is just using any lens, (i used my 18-55 mm one, the less mm the closer the macro will be) and you either strap it on to your camera backwards, buy a reversing ring (cheap as) or simply hold it with you bare hands and wolah! macro! you get a tonne of vignetting but you can use it or crop it out. its funky! ill upload a couple of pics i took with that technique to show you, maybe i should write a jurnal entry with instructions too. hehe!
sorry about my rambling i get a bit excited haha i just love how you can get fantastic effects if you are just nifty, instead of spending thousand of dollars and basically getting the same effect!

Exactly! Sadly it happens most of the time on some photography forums.
Thanks for the information, I never thought of doing that! Might try reversing the lens soon when things are less hectic around here. Vignetting won't be a problem at all I don't think.
A journal entry would be an awesome idea! Help others with their photography skills, it's different and cheaper!
I don't mind the rambling. It's better when there's a bit of length to someones reply, makes for better conversations It's all about using your imagination!

Sometimes too dangerous haha
It is actually, I was trying it out two nights ago I think. It's so much easier with a tripod as holding a lens and a body in place is difficult. Once I have the time, and not using my phone, I'll upload them and send a link to you
I also like your work so far, so I might as well watch you

You're welcome. It's alright, I'm a bit late myself due Christmas being so hectic! :/
Sadly no I've been way to busy to get any good ones.
What about yourself?
