I really like the work you have done to this  - the original picture was quite good but your colouring really added a lot to it. I particularly like how the trees in the background hide in the shadow while the road on the first plan is brighter and sunny - great work!

This is a really cool recolor; I particularly like how vibrant the grass is. However you managed to get the colors to incorporate the pencil strokes without being limited TO the pencil is pretty impressive, too!

Of course!   I've never used Gimp before, so I'm not sure how different the layer styles are, but it certainly turned out a really neat effect.

Oh jeez, I'm blown away by what you've done. Fantastic colour, makes all that grass texture come to life, and the tress.
