I just don't get it
I can't understand
why the thousands of voices
demand and demand

they yell at me
scream at me
cry for me to
but they never will tell me
what they want me to do

so I sit here and listen
to their screams and their cries
as they look up to me
the boy with blue eyes

I don't know what they want
I don't know what to do
so I live out my life
with my mind in this zoo

the ones that are quiet
the ones that don't scream
are the ones full of power
they're more than they seem

they grant me their skills
all that power is mine
but it comes with the knowledge
of the end of my time

whatever I see
whatever I hear
their oily voice
speaks up in my ear

I know if you lie
you blind little one
I am cursed with the wisdom
of The shadowy one

a small little creature
alive in my brain
I could tell from the start
it was always in pain

for it is the silent
the small and the weak
but the less it does talk
the louder it speaks

and I know not why
but I can't help but feel
that the shadowy one
is all that is real

and my life is a dream
going horribly wrong
even though it is perfect
as a baby birds song

this can only mean
that I am confused
In a life full of rhythm
all that's playing is blues

when I tower above
the worlds tallest man
and have a beautiful princess
just holding my hand

I know what will happen
before you can act
but with the zoo in my mind
I've made a dangerous pact

that I may be able
to read through your soul
but I cannot see mine
it's just a big hole

is this how it happens?
is this how it works?
I lose myself
to see your dumb quirks?

The being inside me
knows nothing but pain
and I think to myself
am I going insane?

just like I control
the people of lies
the shadowy one
