In all the years I've photographed and studied fungi...I've never heard the term 'bear bread'..lol

Up here it's called Bear Bread, I don't know the technical term for it tho

I've heard them called Shelf Fungus, Bracket Fungus, and Conks. Not sure of the species name for this particular one though.
Ah yes The second pic there looks like the same sort of thing.

Conks is typical up here, but most people just call it bear bread.I also have a link to one of the artists who use it to paint on Smells horrible when drying it out but so pretty when painted on
