Mist Blade - ♪ You have to cross the line just to remember where it lays. ♪
One of the few earth ponies of the group, he is large, and very navy blue.
Lime green eyes are bright against the navy blue of his coat, mane, and tail.
A bit more soft spoken than Light or Psych, he still is very friendly, if not seeming
a little shy from time to time. The perfect gentlepony to mares, he does his best to
remain neutral to any fight within the group (much to everyone's frustration at times),
and is very hard to anger. His cutie mark is a dagger hilt without the blade, and his talent
oddly enough is stealth. Even though Mist is a earth pony, he has the ability to be exceptionally
quiet and sneaky. You would never ever know he was the actual assassin of the group. Many
raiders have passed into the void with a surprised expression when Mist has somehow
appeared out of no where and slit their throats in a clean cut with his favored weapon, a plain dagger.

His personality combined with his occupation reminds me of Cole from "Dragon Age". And I like shy, calm, non-confrontational boys/men/stallions/males anyway,

I like to think of Mist as a "Sweet and Sour" type stallion. Considering he is an assassin, but is otherwise a very sweet individual. (That and I really ended up enjoying something about having a same mane / fur color type. It seemed both simple, and something you also dont see every day in the pony-verse.)

I like it when a character has contrasting sides like that. It makes for interesting character interactions (and people trying to get their head around the contrast).
At first (when I spotted him in an FoE group) I was not too keen on the mane matching the coat, as I thought it left little room for creativity, but it's growing on me. I also like it when the eyes are strikingly different from the coat and mane colour, or when a colourful character has contrasting eyes in general. I think it's due to the simple fact the it stands out and draws attention to the character's face, like the pink stripe in Twilight's mane, or Trixie's warm coloured eyes, or Yang Xiao Long's purple eyes.
Come to think of it, I should have given my OC striking eyes, but I think the scarf would be contrasting enough. Besides, yellow and orange shades would fit in too well, pink would also be lost in the design, and as much as I love purple eyes, I like it when eyes contrast the character's outfit colours, green shades are too common, red is just garish, and blue shades are also too common.
A black-scaled dragon with yellow or purple eyes, however? Love it! And a red creature with blue eyes? Common, but still looks great. A yellow creature with purple eyes (like Joelton)? Love it! And in your case, a dark blue creature with bright green eyes? Looks suprizingly great (orange just would not work with that shade).

And yeah, at first I was worried the same color scheme wouldnt look too great...but you are right, it grows on you, and I actually really do like it now! I thought about making his eyes yellow at first...but then I figured he may look a little cliche if I did so. >.> heh

Yeah, and yellow would be too bright considering how saturated and striking the coat is (unlike the neon pink unicorn, it's not blindingly bright, and I thought the coat suited his personality anyway).
