Shadoe, is a white-tailed deer that has a genetic condition that has led her to be born with both male, and female attributes of her species. (Similar, to Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome). For all intents and purposes she has mostly female attributes, though has been left without a mane, rare dark coloration, and the antlers that are specific to the males of her species. She also did not completely lose her fawn spots on reaching maturity. She is very quiet, (think Pinkie's sister Maud Pie), and shows little to no emotion. Though this does not mean she is emotionless. Among her species, she was raised to be the next shaman, soon after her parents realized she had mild psychic abilities. Luckily, those abilities kept her from being an outcast, and allowed other deer to accept her for what she is since she turned out to be very helpful amongst her herd. Her psychic abilities are kept to visions in her sleep, and strong feelings of warning or danger. She enjoys dressing her antlers in strings of silver necklaces, and little stones and crystals that match her eye color. She has a voice that is both feminine in quality, but more deeper than normal.

Updated Ref-sheet of my Deer character, Shadoe. Who now....actually looks like a deer!
This I think will be her proper ref image for awhile.
And yes, I do consider her to be in the same MLP Universe as other ponies. She just doesn't actually live with ponies.
I consider deer-characters in the MLP-verse to kinda be like Indians. >.> heh

Yes, she does . I love seeing deer designs for MLP OCs. I like yours as it keeps the slim leg design (some draw them with legs like the ponies and it just looks weird to me), but the body is more...robust then most.
I said most of the reasons why I like her when I commented on the original profile/reference, so...that's all, I guess. Sorry.

It was the pony-like hooves that actually ended up me deciding to go more towards the deer-look. I wanted something that still had the image of being in the pony-verse, but at the same time was very obviously different.
I did end up looking up a lot of "Bambi" work.

Heh heh, most people use the "Bambi" style. I don't like it when it's a complete copy, but it is a good place to start, since the style and the G4 style do have some similarities.
Personally, I'm not a fan of female deer OCs being given manes, as again, it looks weird to me, but I understand that it leads to more creative freedom.

I think my biggest concerns were both the legs as mentioned, and actually the ears...since it seemed very distinct that the ears would need to look different!
I am okay with manes on Deer OCs, though for this particular gal, I thought not giving her one would be more unique. And would draw more attention to her antlers.
