Melissa, you are probably the preeminent bird photographer out there!
Your depth of field and composition are consistently spot-on. You have an innate ability to compose your subjects and maintain a neutral-coloured or complimentary contrasting background that not only highlights the subject, but also draws one's eye towards it. The shadows are never harsh, even when it's obvious that you've shot in direct sunlight, and in lower light photographs, the sharpness of your images never suffer.
You have my unending admiration as a wildlife photographer.
What more is there to say about your photography, but it is consistently stunning?
Beautiful, as usual.
Cheers

Thank you so much for the kind words! I am very critical about my lighting - I cannot seem to get the same kind of softness as many others, so this makes me think that maybe I am going in the right direction!

great shot like always, would you take a look at this woodpecker and tell what kind it is, I've never seen one this big, the finished hole in the tree was a little bigger than a softball

That's my favorite, a Pileated Woodpecker! They make huge holes, sometimes that can go a couple of feet long. I just had one at my feeders today. They are a great bird!

Outstanding capture. Very well done. I'm also hoping to see and photograph one of these warblers as they pass through my area this spring.
