I enjoyed two mornings with pairs of Resplendent Quetzals - both times were early and in a valley, so there was little light. Quetzals tend to avoid sitting in direct sunlight since it makes them more vulnerable to predators. On the last morning, I was on my way back to my room when this male flew right over me into a tree behind the room and in the sun! He sat for a couple of minutes then continued on his way. What a perfect way to end my trip to Costa Rica!Resplendent Quetzal
