These are fantastic images - I've been "manipulating" Victorian cabinet cards (without nearly so much skill I hasten to add) - and you've really got my attention here!
I'd give up now that I've seen your work - but it's so much such fun
Good luck with your business!

Good work, especially on the bouquet. I know that part would've driven me nuts.

This is just something beyond amazing! I mean really! The colors are just awesome and everything....when I look at your pictures I feel like the colorized versions are the originals, not the other way around! But there's just one thing that's killing me ever since laying my eyes on these colorized photos: how do you know which color is which? Do you have some other reference (besides the photos)? Or is it all just guesswork?

Thank you!
I simply guess the colours, and I get a lot of of freedom really. For instance, look at his tie. I really doubt it was pink, it was more likely more beige or blue. Clothing is hardest because I keep switching colours until I'm satisfied and it looks "fashionable" for the age (except his tie ). Skin colours are easiest, since they're a natural colour. Same with the sky and trees.

So if you doubt that it was pink, why'd you color it to pink? As for the clothing: do you even do some "background check" on the clothing that was fashionable for the age of the photograph as well? Or is it just pure guesswork as well? Also, how about the billboards/flashy logos of Times Square (on that famous "marine kiss" photo)? Was that guesswork too?
Sorry for this plethora of question, I'm just asking them because the pictures REALLY look natural with colors i.e. everything seems to have the right colors, not only the trees and faces/skin, but the surroundings/clothing as well.
Also, is there any chance that you could give me a quote for this kind of work via PM or something?
